I hate to hear that. I guess I was talking to him when I had questions about the pedestal. Seemed like a nice guy. I'll be mounting mine in the next few months. I'll have it up and running by my October trip.

Did get the HS60 mounted last weekend, so that part of my future radar is complete.

I started out good a few weeks ago and then got silly busy. Its been a while but I got some work done today. I was hoping to get the four inch Sea Scan mount but as Skunk mentioned above that will unfortunately not happen. I was gong to settle for a Battlewagon 6 inch mount. When ordering for the Furuno DRS4D NXT 24 I read that they had to custom build the plate for this unit. Since they were custom making I called and ask if they could make it four inches and they did, for the same price. I intended to post here so asked if he would custom make for other makes and he said yes. This mount had the 4 degree tilt built in - nothing extra to mess with, or buy. Call Mark at BattleWagon if interested. He was great to work with. I got the mount and hardware for just around $400.

ChiTown..are you on your own trailer? I have a 265 also.
I mounted my garmin flush since I couldn't get the SeaScan4".
I added 1/4" thick rubber between hardtop & radome and extra layer in rear to angle it a bit.

When they came to haul me, I had them check with their stick and I would be flirtin with disaster if I went up 4"..definitely can't go 6" with the radome in place.
Of course it just 4 bolts and 2 plugs to remove the radome for hauling (twice a year)

It works pretty damn good where it is so that project moved down a few pegs

Chi Town,, that looks great. Cool that Battlewagon worked with you. Definitely a custom mount. Is the base plate a standard mount? The part bolted to the hardtop? It looks smaller than my Sea-Scan mount plate.

Hi KY. Sorry for late reply. I assume it's a standard size. It was specifically for the nxt. I did not question or chose the size.

No problem. After looking at your pics again, I see the hardtop is bigger than mine, making you have more room, probably is the standard size base.

I've had my simrad sitting right on my HT of my 228 but it was losing targets within an 1/8 mile so I just ordered this.
It's 10" I'll post a picture when I get it mounted.

My last boat I had a 6" and I always thought I was still missing boats that were close to me? It may be higher then needed seems a lot of boats out here in the PNW have radar on the tall side. I fish a lot in fog with no visibility so I really want the radar to perform best it can. It hasn't arrived yet, I may change my mind and return it for a shorter one after actually seeing it?

Scanstrut or Battlewagon. I think Battlewagon will do custom height. I looked at Scanstrut first until I bought the custom height Sea-Scan.

FYR - Works v well on a tiny GW 228G but raised the total height of the boat - a consideration if dry storage.

Well,,,,,,, changing it up a little.

After seeing ChiTown's custom BattleWagon mount, I reached out to Mark and he is building me a 4" mount with the 4° downward tilt. I like the fact that it's all one piece, no moving parts and no shims. I think it will be a cleaner install.

This showed up today!!! Test fit with Sea-Scan mount while waiting on my BattleWagon mount. This thing is big. Looks odd sitting on the hardtop. Might have to move the HS60 back some, as best looking location for dome has it overhanging the HS60.
