Any idea how to correct this?

Agreed. After using boat I spray all over motors with salt away and then spray liberally with Corrosion X every couple trips.

84’ Tournament.. replacing tank but have questions

I’m no expert, but since no one else is replying, I would probably drill a few holes back where the fiberglass isn’t cracked. You might find the wood is wet pretty far back. Since it’s already accessible, you could expose the wet wood, remove and replace, and re-Fibefglass. But if, like...

    New boat tool set

After you acquire some tools, some advice....I spray my tools liberally with WD40 and keep a thin cloth soaked with wd40 in the tool container. Relatively inexpensive tools can last a long time like this. I've not found any that are truly rust proof in salt water environment unless protected and...

    Installing a windlass

If you aren't installing the foot switches next to the windless, amazon has a remote control that I have purchased and installed. Its only about $41 and works great. Definitely nice to have if you're having any trouble raising your anchor. The Lewmar version is about $350-$400...

New Boater/ Fuel Gauge broken... How many hours/miles can you get on a full tank of gas?

Rule of thumb- divide the hp by 10, that’s about what you will burn gallons per hour at wide open. Since you probably won’t be running wide open all day, that should keep you from running out of fuel at least.

    Okay, need a shakedown list

I don’t know how old your boat is, but if you have 2 strokes bring extra oil, and try to check oil consumption vs gas consumption after your trip. Hopefully you have checked or replaced your thru hulls, if you can see any that are below the waterline from inside the boat, take a look to see if...

    Vinyl Stripping

I bought mine at https://discontinueddecals.com/store/c/41-Grady-White-Decals.aspx look great and still do after a couple years. I had a vinyl wrap guy install them as it seemed like I couldn’t really do it by myself and make it look professional. I also bought the new “flag” emblems that go on...

    Windlass Problems

If you have a profish 700 you have a relay (contractor). Good point to check at the windlass connection to determine whether it’s a wiring problem or windlass problem. I’d check the relay first if it was me because in my boat the relay is easier to access than the windlass connection- but that’s...

    Windlass Problems

Any luck yet? Follow the battery cables, they should go to the breaker, from breaker they go to the relay, which is controlled by the push button at the console. My relay is mounted near the battery area ( by me), but it could be in line with the battery cable anywhere between the battery and...
