    Transom Issues

Is the question how far the damage extends or is the question how far offshore would you trust that vessel? You could stuff the crack full of 5200 and stay really local. Probably for a few years. But if you are going offshore in any kind of sea, would you really want to trust that?

What a difference 4 months makes.

That is an amazing transformation. You should be proud of your efforts. Now get her bloody!!!

    Transom Issues

That would be considered a catastrophic transom failure. It will only get worse... Approximately 10 boat bux. (10 grand)...

    272 Sailfish Cracks in Stringers

Additionally I would email those pics and maybe a picture of the rear of the boat to Grady to see what they think. Just by those two pictures and your description my opinion is you should be extremely concerned and a proper repair is required but that is just that, my "opinion". If you do...

Any advice to repair interior liner crack? (with photo)

I would drill a 1/8" hole at the end of the crack to keep it from growing, put a strip of white gorilla tape over the crack and then prop a small pillow on that shelf to hide the tape. But that's just me cause I'm kinda lazy about cosmetics. You went two years so you it seems you aren't...

    1982 204 Overnighter

Sounds like a neat old boat. Would love a few pictures if you're up to it. Unless water somehow made its way into the transom and it was already rotten when you stored the boat my bet would be it's solid. Also there's several videos on YouTube on how to sound a transom with a ball peen hammer...

Not a grady question but you guys know a bunch so

I knew you would like it. Hopefully it was rough out so you could really feel the hull working, particularly at speed. Post pictures when you take delivery.

Not a grady question but you guys know a bunch so

I believe the naysayers haven't spent enough time on a cat with someone experienced at the helm. War stories are always that, stories, but I'll tell you one anyways. 105 miles out in the gulf of Mexico. Trip was planned well in advance and 2 of the four guys had flown in so we were going. Plan...

Not a grady question but you guys know a bunch so

I ran a 27 world cat cc for 7 years in the gom and have fished the 29 several times. I have never driven a 320 but I'm sure it only gets better because, well, it's bigger. In my experience cats eat closely spaced chop and if you do manage to launch it the landing is surprisingly soft. I never...

The only better boat than a Grady is a bigger Grady and I'm going bigger

Good to hear you've opted to slip the boat. The first time you spend the night and are already there and rested when you wake up in the morning to head out you will not be disappointed.

Several Functions On My Gauges Don't Work

Did the gauges ever work or are they new to you? If new to you I know that the speedo is getting its reading from the speedo hose off the lower unit or (preferred) your GPS. So without a functioning input there you won't get speed or trip. The oil and temp I would verify wires are hooked up...

    Registration numbers

Missed the question, no not mine. I just used the picture because it was handy.

    Registration numbers

Exactly what I was thinking and is why I asked. Consensus is to leave them so that's what I'll do. Thanks for the responses everyone.

    Registration numbers

Got my new annual sticker and that prompted me to ask, on the smaller hulls, the 208 for instance, do folks favor the numbers above or below the rubrail? I've seen both. My current numbers look like this.

What is the 226/228 True Length for Slip Fees?

I've had several open transom boats and have never taken a wave over the transom. Anchored, drifting, running, never a wave over the transom. Has anyone ever seen this happen?
