As we say when relieving ourselves, "It's deep too!"

My new 1986 Grady 226 seafarer (wow what did I get myself into)

If your .jpg files are on a Mac, open them in Preview and use the dropdown menu: Tools/Adjust size, and select Custom: 1280 x 1024 or smaller. If your boat wasn't designed for a bracket, I'd stay away from that option. They're terrible for fishing and dunk your motor when coming off plane. Did...

    First Yamaha NEMA 2000

Depends, maybe 2004 if you got the right one.

    Fuel Gauge

I can only report my experience and can't argue the electromechanical explanation. I am reading from a sender attached to an EP-65R connected to my NMEA2000 network.

    Fuel Gauge

I have found that cleaning the fuel sender's ground contact miraculously adds many gallons to the readout on my fuel gauge.

HELP Me choose the right Grady!!!!

$50,000, stating the obvious perhaps, but really, don't you think you get what you pay for?

Where to put bait tank(livewell) on my 208?

I plumbed my 40 gallon Pacific Edge tank as you describe, although it's on a Sailfish, so I can't give you specifics on your routing. For me, getting the weight as far forward as possible was a must, as well as walk around access. I routed both the fill and discharge lines through the deck...

High speed water pick up causing either hose or pump to blow

Re: High speed water pick up causing either hose or pump to Indeed. You mean your deck is getting wet? Perhaps (a) closing the valve partially would slow down the flow rate or (b) pulling the drain plug could prevent overflow, or (c) eliminating the hard charging driving mode would keep...

    GW Gelcoat Color Matching

For its convenience, I use the white finish gelcoat sold at Westmarine, along with the tints which are included in the Evercoat Gelcoat Repair kit. No two boats are going to be the same due to the aging process, and different areas of the boat will differ due to their exposure. I have found that...

Help! Mounting radar on hardtop - Sailfish

Thank you. That's a home made hardtop for my tower (which you can't see in the pic). The light and dome are the least of my worries. The tower goes 14' 6" or so and and tops out well above the light. I hate it when I get wherever I'm going and there's berries and leaves and twigs and bird's...

Help! Mounting radar on hardtop - Sailfish

No two situations are identical, but for my trailering with a tower this has worked out swell.

    1980's Grady Fuel tanks

So, ask the owner to email pictures to you of all those accessible areas which are of concern. Perhaps he can Facetime you for a live chat and video tour. Popping off an inspection plate or two should be easy enough. There's no telling what previous owners may have done to the boat, so an...

Bulkhead between gas tanks rotting and general questions

I would take a minimalist approach to the bulkhead repair and just use the boat until one or both of the fuel tanks begin to leak. If they're 25 years old, that should be any day now. That's the time to do your carpentry, when the old tanks are taken out of their compartments for replacement.
