    Advice for transducer - Marlin

What kind of "bottom paint" are you refering to. You dont want to use regular bottom paint. Sea Hawk has a tranducer paint that is recommended by airmar. It's a water based paint and you paint it on every part of the transducer.

Bottom Paint for Trim Tabs - Question

Propspeed, very pricey but after two years i pulled the boat and pretty much nothing growing there, and what was there brushed right off and they look as if they were just painted. I do reach under and give them a brush every couple of months though.

    Floor Panel Sealant

According to the folks at GE, "1hr Silicone ll KB Supreme" in almond is the same stuff packaged for consumers that Grady uses. Home Depot, Lowes, Ace all carry it for about 6 bucks a tube but mostly only carry it in black and white. They carry others in almond but not the "KB Supreme" so you...

    Silicone Caulking

FWIW According to the folks at GE silicones, GE KB supreme, silicone ll, (it's the one in the gold tube), is the same stuff as GE 1700 (which is what Grady uses) only packaged this way for consumer use. Just passing on the info from GE. Home Depot carries it in clear and white but I had to have...

    Rigging Top Mount Outriggers

Hello, I just finished mounting a pair of Taco grand slam 350's. I went through the trouble of removing the hardtop and welding plates to hardtop frame, major PIA but i felt it was necessary, removing all the cualking was the worst part, the wiring was easy. I plan on double rigs and would like...

    Transducer Mounting

Yes I understand now, I made a mistake as I installed a B744 ducer. that B260 is much larger. Well if anything I would let the excess hang off the back of the flat or just reshape the fairing at the back to make it shorter. It appears there is a lot of material or area on the back of that...

    rub rail maintenance

I believe the rub rail screws are 90% of the problem people are having with the water in the forward bilge. I especially like the part about removing center tube, its unbelievable how much crud is there! Chris

Hello, I can tell you a 2001 Marlin freshwater pump is located in the aft berth, behind the carpeted sidewall, port side. Take out about 7 or 8 screws, sidewall comes out, pump is right there! Chris

2001 30' Marlin Auxiliary Battery Problems

YES the aux battery is supposed to be charged. Read previous post. There are two charging leads off each engine. On each engine, one lead should be to the start battery and one to the aux battery. if you only had one aux battery then both extra leads to the aux battery. Look at your aux...

2001 30' Marlin Auxiliary Battery Problems

Have you looked to see if the charging wires from the engines are actually connected to the battery? In addition to charging your start batteries there are leads from the engines that should be connected to house batteries and yes they should charge while underway. Sounds like they are not...

Forward bilge area always has some water ??

There are numerous threads on this issue. Good Luck! Copied from another thread I'm having a very laborious time chasing a water leak also. Here's what I've come up with so far. Water is in forward bilge area which makes sense because that is the lowest part of the boat. I've identified the...
