    Price My Boat - 2004 Marlin 300

Thanks for the thoughts so far. Yes, bow thruster - it can be very helpful! I think $45 would be a steal! Not that I wouldn’t love it, but $80 seems a bit high. Anyone else?

    Price My Boat - 2004 Marlin 300

Hey everyone! Looking for your thoughts on pricing my boat -- thinking about making a change... What do you think this will go for (I know there are a lot of variables)? 2004 Marlin 300 Twin Yamaha F225 w/ 1250 hours (run great) Full electronics - but dated Air Conditioning, Windlass, Hard Top...

    Mooring whip chafe

I had the same issue on my ‘04. I took off the roller that went under the platform, put a simple roller on top of the platform (still using the slot) and it raised the anchor enough that it doesn’t chafe.

    Marlin questions

Marlin sounds great for your use! I'm also in NE with a 2004... Couple of additional thoughts for you: I don't think you be allowed to run a generator late evenings / early morning in many populated places -- so consider how useful A/C and a generator will be. I use my A/C and heat the few...

    Holding Tank Vent

Extensive pressure buildup in the tank is a clear signal that the vent isn't working. I was able to detach the vent hose from the through-hull and blow air (from a pump, not from my mouth!) easily through the hose, so it must be the through-hull (which is more difficult to reach and test)... I...

    Holding Tank Vent

Hello! Any idea why Grady used (uses?) a fuel tank screened through-hull for the holding tank vent? Mine keeps getting clogged (I think from the outside) and my holding tank ends up under a lot of pressure! I've confirmed no blockage in the vent between the tank and the through-hull. I'm...

    Bimini Sway

Hello all, Looking for ideas--simple ones--to reduce the sway of my Marlin's cockpit Bimini while underway. You'll see in the photo that there is nothing stopping side-to-side sway.... I can't lay it backwards as it hits engines and when brought forward, it doesn't make it to the hardtop...

Fishtales - why a new seat? Is it any better at not getting waterlogged? Where did you get it? Thanks!

    Marlin Fuel Tank Management

I've just moved up from a 2003 Journey (258) that I had for 10 years to a 2004 Marlin (300) - so far very happy as the boat is very familiar, but different and bigger, but not too big. One subject I have questions on is how to manage the two fuel tanks. There are two 150ish gallon fuel tanks -...

New Rochelle to Cape Cod Trip

I just ran my new (to me) Marlin from Norwalk to Cuttyhunk (and then up to Boston). Had a great ride. Check the distance as I am sure it is a good bit further than the 90 you mention -- closer to 150+. I used Garmin BlueChart on my iPad to plan the trip (moved route to my Garmin on the boat...
