Boat looks great! Best decision to stay with the 2-stroke for your boat. I'm curious about the history of your boat. When and where did you buy it originally?

I installed the StingRay Hydrofoil on my 1997 Escape. Made a big difference. It got me up on plane much quicker and lowered the bow of the boat while under way. Well worth the $50.00! (Hopefully, it saves some gas money too.)

My 1997 Escape is powered with a Mercury 200 EFI. My motor is still in great shape and only has about 100hrs on it. However, just due to the age, I am starting to think about repowering. I have been very happy with my 200hp 2-stroke motor but will probably repower with a 4-stroke...

I got mine from my Grady dealer (Crocker's). I just called them up, told them what I needed and had them ship them to me. Don't remember price but it was very reasonable.

Now I think you may be going from one extreme to the other. A 225 is nearly a 100hp jump. I'm not sure of the max hp rating either but you should call or email GW customer service to find. I have a feeling that 225 may be overpowered. I wouldn't put anything smaller than 150hp or larger...

In my experience I agree with the post above. You won't be satisfied with anything less than a 150hp. Look around and check with the dealers. There are some very nice, used 150hp 2 strokes out there right now that you can get for a good price. People are trading them in and repowering with 4...

Well said Capeguy! I concur. However, I do know his waters. They don't call it the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" for nothing. If he is going to boat in that area he should get the biggest boat he can reasonable afford to buy, operate and tow. If that is the 18 I'm sure he will be satisfied...
