    86 19' Tournament

Boat looks great! Best decision to stay with the 2-stroke for your boat. I'm curious about the history of your boat. When and where did you buy it originally?

    thru hull fittings change out

I can't help you because I need to do the same thing. Keep me posted on this project. I am going to try and do mine this Fall.

    Outboard Hydrofoils

I installed the StingRay Hydrofoil on my 1997 Escape. Made a big difference. It got me up on plane much quicker and lowered the bow of the boat while under way. Well worth the $50.00! (Hopefully, it saves some gas money too.)

    My new ride

Greg, That is a great looking boat. I'm the one you been discussing the bimini with. I see your bimini frame in the picture. Have you checked to see how much new canvas would be?

    Repower 1999 209 Escape

My 1997 Escape is powered with a Mercury 200 EFI. My motor is still in great shape and only has about 100hrs on it. However, just due to the age, I am starting to think about repowering. I have been very happy with my 200hp 2-stroke motor but will probably repower with a 4-stroke...

    CUP HOLDERS WANTED

I got mine from my Grady dealer (Crocker's). I just called them up, told them what I needed and had them ship them to me. Don't remember price but it was very reasonable.

    130 HP Okay for a 1977 20' Dolphin?

Now I think you may be going from one extreme to the other. A 225 is nearly a 100hp jump. I'm not sure of the max hp rating either but you should call or email GW customer service to find. I have a feeling that 225 may be overpowered. I wouldn't put anything smaller than 150hp or larger...

    130 HP Okay for a 1977 20' Dolphin?

In my experience I agree with the post above. You won't be satisfied with anything less than a 150hp. Look around and check with the dealers. There are some very nice, used 150hp 2 strokes out there right now that you can get for a good price. People are trading them in and repowering with 4...

Doel-Fin Hydrofoil Planing Stabilizer Anyone using them?

I recently installed a StingRay Hydrofoil Stabilizer on my 209 Escape. It does not have trim tabs and I wanted to try this before installing any. I have used it twice with the stabilizer and am very impressed. I definetly get on plane quicker and the bow rides lower. I don't have a fuel flow...

    180 vs 209

Well said Capeguy! I concur. However, I do know his waters. They don't call it the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" for nothing. If he is going to boat in that area he should get the biggest boat he can reasonable afford to buy, operate and tow. If that is the 18 I'm sure he will be satisfied...

    Newbie

Welcome Steve, I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I hope you enjoy! I have already learned so much in the short time I have been a member. I'm sorry, I don't know anything about your boat. In fact, I don't know that I had ever heard of it. But even if no one is particularly...

    King off NC

Thanks! I was the gaff man and also the photgrapher. I'm glad the picture turned out as well as it did. Like I mentioned, I took the photo using a cell phone (motorola razor). It was so bright I could barely see the display but it ended up being much better than expected. I was...

    Finally Got the Grady

My-Wedge / Centering Clips Good point on the centering clips. You are right, with the wedges I don't see how the engine can turn. I am assuming zerk fitting = grease fittin'. That is what we call them down here. And no, the Merc doesn't have a grease fittin' on either side. Anyway, I'm...

    King off NC

Hi Guys, I posted my 1st picture in one of my replies and had such good luck with it that I wanted to post it here. This is the first King I have caught on my 209 since I bought it the middle of last summer. Hopefully many more to come. I took the picture using my camera phone. It was...

    180 vs 209

209 v/s 180 209 is alot more boat and better suited for your needs. I looked at both as well and thought the 209 was much more versatile. It is a whole lot more boat. In fact, most people with other brands of 20-21 foot boats think mine is bigger than there's. I was picking it up from the...

    Finally Got the Grady

Congragulations on your new boat! Glad everything went well. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents on the My-Wedge. I ordered one after your post and used it for the first time this weekend. I thought it was great! Before your post I was looking for some kind of Transom Saver. Glad I...
