    gas filter problem

Agree with seasick... it's your tank. Lot's of people went through this right after the switch from MTBE to Ethanol gas. Have your fuel tank flushed/cleaned by a professional.

    Can I get some advice?

800+ hours, (on the one motor) is high... not extremely high, but a lot. If what the seller says about the compression being equal is true, fine... but definitely have a 3rd party mechanic go over it, (both motors). Get a survey. If the motors and the boat check out... that's an extremely...

i want to try trim tabs

If you want to do it right, go with Bennete trim tabs. Standard 9 x 12 tabs would be fine for your boat - http://www.bennetttrimtabs.com/catalog.php?vID=203 Their Sport tabs would be fine also, (M80 or M120). The M80 has a smaller "foot print" than the standard 9 x 12 tabs, (8 inch's wide)...

    222 ride quality

I have a friend who had a 21 Seapro... then he bought a 222. He couldn't believe the difference. I was on both boats many times and the 222 blew that Seapro away. I have nothing against them, but there is simply a world of difference between them.... quality, ride... everything. Imo, for a...

    Wiper motor adjustment

If it's only a matter of repositioning the wiper arm... and assuming you have an AFI wiper motor, (ongaro is also the same) with a 5/8" splined shaft. AFI arms usually come off by lifting a plastic hood over the base of the arm. Now you can losen a set screw, remove the arm and reposition it...

    Yamaha Dead!

Not a good idea to run on "both". If one battery is weak, it will "pull" the other battery down. It's ok to run on "both" temporarily, to charge both batteries, but don't leave it like that all the time. Thought the same thing, but I think the engine will still crank without the...

    2000 250 ox66 compression

I had a 2000 Yamaha 250 and the compression was between 115 and 120 on all cylinders. I don't know about cold vs warm results, but I think readings should be taken with a warm engine. I think the most important thing is, that all cylinders have a reading within 10 percent of each other...

    Steering Wheel Play

Did an install last year.... new helm and a HC-5345 cylinder. Adjustment nut was plastic, (unlike older metal one's)... with a Phillips head locking screw. I'd consider that a "change".

    Steering Wheel Play

You're welcome. I think I should re-word this... A little free play in the wheel is ok. Say an inch, before the ram starts moving... but 2 inch's is too much.

    Anchor Light

Agree with got grady... could be a broken but connector. Check continuity, (ohm meter) between switch and wire end. Check ground too. The reason there are 3 wires on the new light is, because some all-around/anchor lights have 2 bulbs and others have just one. On the 2 bulb models, the...

What's the beef about Grady on that other boating forum

Hey SoutheastFL... guess what?... no one here cares. Take your pointless opinion, (and yourself) back to that joke of a web rag, THT... where it belongs. We're well aware of the pros and cons of our Gradys, and the pros far out weight the cons. It's funny... every now and then one of...

    1990 242g offshore w/twin 135 opti's ?

Imo, trim tabs are a necessity... they should be standard on every boat. Also... if it hasn't been mentioned before... get a survey. Well worth the piece of mind.
