When did you get your first Grady-White?

Labor Day weekend in 2001 was reading the sports page of the Boston Sunday Globe and saw a small add for a GW180. After years of wearing down my wife by pointing out every boat i saw, she just said "Go get it". I did. a 99 GW 180 with a Yammie 130. Fantastic boat, we had a blast on it for...

    Yamaha Helm Master

Looking at Canyon 306s and i have a narrow slip which with wind/current makes it hard to get in without losing control of the bow. I was looking at models with bow thrusters, but a friend suggested getting Helm master instead. Anyone have this on a 30' boat instead of a thruster? anyone use...

    Canyon 306

Thanks Ben, any other differences between older models and newer? Looking at later models for the 300s, but wondering if there is much difference? Also now looking at older 336 Canyons. Anything you don't like about the 306?

    Canyon 306

Anyone here run a late model 2015-2018 Canyon 306? Wondering what your experience has been, good & bad. Considering this for my next boat, I run off the South Shore of Mass, fishing with some family cruising. I'm not looking for advice on CC vs Express/Cabins but specifically for this model...

    chesapeake 290

Wow Sharkbait, I don't approach those numbers. I have an '06 with Twin F225s, bottom paint. Optimal is about 4300 rpm or so and about 28mph. Trimmed perfectly in calm waters with light load and fuel, I might hit 1.6mpg on the Yamaha meters. Verify with GPS and flow... Normally 1.4mpg ish...

    chesapeake 290

The Chesapeake replaced the Sailfish somewhere around 2010 or so. I understood the main reason to add a foot, was to enable a generator to be located in the stern area, where it wouldn't fit on the Sailfish. Beautiful boat, there is one on my dock and as a Sailfish owner, I see the difference...

Opinion on Sailfish 282 From Owners?

I have run an '06 282 with 225s for 7 years. I fish the South Shore of MA, Cape Cod, and Stellwagen bank. My friends love to fish on my boat, it is solid, takes the seas here as well as any 28' and is a fishing machine. We do not overnight on it and use the cabin mainly for storage. Yes it...

    282 sailfish switch layout? 2005

On the Grady White website you can download the owner manual for your year/model. It will show the standard layout which is a good place to start.

    discontinued models

website has a Fisherman 236 and Canyon 271FS so just renamed. Makes no business sense to offer models that noone wants. Dealer in MA told me at the boat show 2 years back that all anyone wants are the DC models and large express models. Dealers know what their customers want and GW responds...

    282 sailfish

In 2009 GW replaced the 282 Sailfish with the 290 Chesapeake. The 290 was last offered in 2015. I remember at the time the major reason behind the small incremental change in size was to accommodate a generator, which the Sailfish couldn't fit. I think the 30' Marlin is a lot more boat than...

    282 sailfish

I run my '06 with T225HP off the South Shore of MA to PTown and Stellwagen bank. I have been 40 miles out with no issues. The boat can handle more than I can so i pick my days, no interest in getting pounded in big seas. Fishing for bass, tuna, haddock, I love the transom fish box set up...

    282 sailfish

I have an '06. You have asked a very broad question, happy to give my thoughts, but maybe narrow it a bit? Where do you boat? What is offshore to you?

    Looking at 05 282 sailfish

I have an '06 Sailfish w/T225HP Yammies. I would be very concerned about that crack as others are, and you are as well. I hear you about this boat, I love it. They no longer offer the 29 Chesapeake either, so no walkaround model between 25' and 30'. For owners like me, this is very good...

    freshwater cockpit shower

I have a 2006 Sailfish 282 and the cockpit shower head is jammed and leaks. I need to replace it. Anyone know the make/part for a replacement? Is it just the head or the hose as well? Any help is appreciated!
