How much do you tip a dock hand when docking or getting gas?

Did they help or not? Bottom line, sorry to be mean, but if they just stand there and hand you the fuel line after you tie up, lucky you get $5. If you help me dock, tie lines off, secure fenders, etc, more. If you bring me ice, whatever, more. If your actions make you think you will help me...

    Gulf Fishing Closure

the thing I just dont get is all the people still buying at the BP stations! WHY??? If you want to send the careless idiots at the top a message, a boycott is the answer. Otherwise its just another cost of doing business

    GW Sportsman 180 Pro's & Con's

had the same set up, F150, loveed the boat except when two guys were on the same side; would tip very easily and a couple of times we nearly went overboard. Very stable ride, but with the deadrise, be aware its not a flats boat - you put too much weight on one side and it will tip at a pretty...

    Naples to the Keys

know you don't want the entire run maybe, but the crossing to the NW channel in Key West is easy, overnight at Galleon, then head back in the ICW to where ever is a lot of fun and you get to see a ton of stuff. To me, middle keys are somewhere between boring or over the top for the super rich...

    If I didn't already have a dock-box

buy now.... LOL on me..... another reason to buy this one and add a lock: After many years of zero movement on my dock, rods, reels, cast nets, tackle box, brush, you name it, I walked out last year to find my dock empty, everything gone. Some AH / kids had come by the night before and...

GW's, Yamahas, Generators and Oil filled water...

That's what everyone here is thinking, but man oh man.... Grouper season just started Apr 1, snapper and scallop are set to start in July. Guess this year, maybe next, will be one of those spend your weekends on the boat polishing and running the engines with the hoses years.... I, as well...

GW's, Yamahas, Generators and Oil filled water...

I live on the northern Gulf Coast and have been watching the tragedy unfold with the oil well explosion, hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil that are now moving toward us, and unfortunately no quick fix in sight. I will not voice my personal opinions in this post, but rather just ask for...

New Boat - what will it take for you to buy one?

Frank, I think you said it really well. I do get concerned about future viability and support given the market though, not as much from having new innovations available as much as I want GW and Yamaha to be strong financially so we can rely on them for service and support in future years...

New Boat - what will it take for you to buy one?

I had an interesting email today, a sales guy from a dealer - who I will not name - that I have never met, telling me I had not traded my GW in several years and he knew it was time for me to buy given my history. OK, maybe, but not in this economy, uncertainty, GW still has no new huge...

Underwater LED light that replaces drain plug

it seems like a logical idea for sure, but while the pics on the website look OK enough, the rating on brightness is nothing to brag about, and the overall website looks somewhat low end imho. I just thought I would ask as it could be one of those sleeper products that works great but no one...

Underwater LED light that replaces drain plug

anyone have any experience with this product? http://www.tojoseabelow.com/ Saw it in my new fishing magazine, looks pretty simple and for less than $300 its a heck of a price for a single light. I have never seen or heard of it before the magazine, just the high end LED's that cost...

    Buffing Question

has anyone ever tried Nanowax on a boat? I found this stuff by accident a couple years ago and have been using it on my autos ever since. Takes maybe 15 min to do an SUV by hand, just spray on, wipe around with a microfiber towel and its done. I tried other quick spray waxes but this one seems...

    360-330 Owners - non-skid waxes?

thanks everyone, but now my really DUMB question: do I wax first, put the regular wax I use on and then add Woody, or just compound and take the oxidation off and Woody replaces the regular wax treatment to protect the gel and finish?

    Buffing Question

I used to be afraid of a buffer but not anymore. you can use the ones from auto stores, I just used one side or another so the surface of the pad that touches the gel coat is going one direction, not the whole round surface. Then I found the Shurhold buffer which uses random movements and I...

    360-330 Owners - non-skid waxes?

Want to see want you are using for the "walking surfaces" on you boats; cockpits, in front of the windshield, bow, etc. I have been using Aurora Sure Step, Woody Wax seems possible, what do you use?

    Removing Mold Spots

I have found good success with Aurora Boat Scrub mixed to a paste with a little Bartenders powder, scrub lightly, let soak in the sun a bit if possible, then rinse. Seems to do well although some stains may take more than one attempt. Magic eraser (vs a towel) also works well as mentioned...

    2010 Projects?

Been on the road the last few weeks a lot, hard on the family but nice to have a job these days too, now thinking about projects for 2010. First up: a. Annual service on the Yamahas, generator, etc. b. Adding some LED's on the transom, so I can brighten up the water off my stern at night c...

NEED A BUFFER AND WHAT BRAND IS SUGGESTED

I use the Shurhold Orbital buffer, totally different than others but it eliminates any "amateur" usage..... ie, me...... rather than just polishing in a circle, the Shurhold does random patterns. For professionals, it may not be needed, but for people like me, ie, amateurs, that need...

    Eisenglass

Serious Shine; Spray HEAVILY, wipe around but do not wipe off; let it sit for maybe 10 min. Then spray lightly again and wipe clean. If its still not clear after this then it is damaged.
