TRIM TABS: WHERE DOES GRADY PUT THE PUMP ON A 228??

reply On my 22-8 the pump/box is located in the starboard side storage compartment in the cuddy. The unit is attached to the bulkhead in the compartment and the lines all run through a hole that I presume was predrilled during manufacturing. On my 20-8 Adventure the pump/box was fitted to the...

Auto Pilot location for 22-8 Seafarer

reply catch 22 that sounds like a great place, water holding tank is there but seems reasonable. Should I expect to take the floor lid off or access through the round cover (which might be a PIA)?

Auto Pilot location for 22-8 Seafarer

reply Ok, I checked those areas and all seems good except the compass area. It might be a little to close to the tank, might present a problem for an accurate reading.

Removing a name and blending the gell coat

I recently bought a new (used Grady) and the previous name is on the side hull. A look at it with the sun shinning I can see the name (vinyl removed) slightly. What product or application should I use to blend it into the rest of the boat. The rest of the hull only needs a cleaning and...

I'M OUT OF CONTROL--is no bracket the reason?

Bob- You summed it up.......I guess I came to the equation my ability an the boats ability however I always wondered if a bracket would help by keeping the weight more centered. Does that make sence? Just curious for my next boat.

    2001 200Hp HPDI Hour Disparity

Wouldn't bat an eye on the lows hours but..... The hours wouldn't scare me but with my experience with engine hours differing I would be thinking this since I've owned twins: When I troll I switch back and forth between motors to keep the hours in relative time. Sometimes hours such as this...

I'M OUT OF CONTROL--is no bracket the reason?

reply Yes, trim tabs up, speed is enough to stay ahead of the forward moving wave and enough to keep passing the coming forward waves. Wave heights are around 4-5 foot plus waves with maybe 5-10 second passings. I know the quotinent for the calculation under "2" is advisable to stay home...

I'M OUT OF CONTROL--is no bracket the reason?

I know this had been brought up a few times but the bracket question has never been really answered with me so here it goes: I'm in Lake Michigan with tighter/closer wave lengths. I had a '90 25' Sailfish twin 200 yamahas (NO BRACKET) which seemed a little out of control on a forward moving...
