    Totalscan Thru hull

Boats in her slip. Did not have time to run her today and check performance at speed. The sidescan is really great. I was able to see all the pilings along the sea wall in the marina and all the crap on the bottom. Looking forward to using it among some offshore structure. This is a game...

    Powerwinch 912

Hey guys thanks for your responses. Removed the cover stared at that clutch, grabbed the gear it drives and was able to spin the gear due to the fact that the motor bolts(2- 7/16) were loose about two full turns each. So much for QC. Tightened them up and she pulls like a beast. All the gears...

    Powerwinch 912

Yes I did. Looking at the exploded diagram I assume the clutch is like the drag system of a conventional reel. The winch does not slip while using the hand crank. Internals were bone dry little grease on bearings, large gears no grease.

    Powerwinch 912

Mounted a new Powerwinch 912 on the trailer. Boat was blocked in driveway. Attempted to winch her back on the trailer. Motor runs normal, cable starts to retrieve, trailer is rolling under boat. Boat is half way on the trailer and clutch starts to slip. Stop, start again, pulls about an inch...

'95 268 Islander Water Pressure Pump

On my 96 Islander the fw pump is located under the stairs to the cabin. You may have an access on the stairs under the non slip or you can remove the fridge and look left.

    Selecting the right EPIRB

Russ do you have a raft? BOE has a great sale going on now. If you have to activate your epirb chances are your going for a swim. Our Islander ventures far offshore for a single powered vessel. Shes safe and has reliable power but the thought of swimming for any length of time fifty miles off is...

    Paint compatibility

Since we're locked down here in New Germany, I guess I'll tackle some jobs I was going to put off. Several years ago I painted my hardtop with Awlgrip. I need to repaint it again since replacing radar and other equipment on top. I have a quart of Rustoleum Primer and Topside paint. Does anyone...

    Transducer Install

84 241 Offshore I have a 96 Islander with the same hull. There are two flats for transducers on that hull. I was thinking about mounting a totalscan transom mount but could not bring myself to do it due to cable routing. One possibility I considered was bringing the cable though the top of the...

    Suzuki Repower

With the 250 yammi we ran a 3x15 x15. Cruised at 23 mph 15 to 16 gph.The first Suzuki prop was the 3 x 16 x 17. Hole shot was terrible wot rpm only 5600 top end just under 40. Powertech 3 x 16 x 17 has much less blade surface than suzuki prop she would spin up over red line and averaged 1.8 to...

    Totalscan Thru hull

I want to install a Simrad 000 14257 001 Totalscan thru hull on the keel close to the rear end of the running surface of the hull. My concern , due to the size of the...

    Islander Instrument Panel

The Islander helm, at least the 96 leaves little room for instrumentation. When I first purchased the boat I removed the door above the Yamaha gauges fabricated a Starboard dash panel and installed a Raymarine A65 and a Furuno 1715 radar. I am replacing the Furuno radar with a new Simrad GO9 xse...

    Raymarine EV 1 sensor core

Thanks for the info. Gonna put a seatalk ng to n2k micro c adapter on it and see what happens. If it works and acts like a 9 axis sensor should, it will save me from buying a new sensor. Hopefully no software conflicts.

    Raymarine EV 1 sensor core

Does anyone know if a Raymarine EV 1 would send heading info to a Simrad NAC 1 computer. I cannot find the PGN sentences that the Raymarine EV 1 sends. I would assume the EV 1 and the Simrad Precision 9 to be very similar sensors.

Totalscan transducer mounting on 1996 Islander

Trying to avoid installing two transducers to utilize the structure scan feature of the GO9 xse. The transom mount totalscan is off the table. Is there anyone who has mounted a totalscan thru hull closer to the keel to degate the issues of the hull blocking the side scan feature. Navico offers a...
