yes richie rich, it is my fish box and storage lid along with the anchor lid. gel coat popping of on the edges. had them checked with a meter and found that they are soaked but still very rigid? I don't know if there is wood or not but there seems to be saturation anyway.

Thanks everyone, the last time the lower unit came off was 3 years ago by a outboard guy I know. I'm removing the unit to have a new skeg welded on and then have it repainted . after its done, I'll change the entire impeller housing. thanks for all the help

My 95 GW 226 had new splashwell drains installed by the dealer four years ago. ( I did not notice any cracks then ) I am noticing small spider cracks below them, now approximatlly 2"to 3" long. Should I be concerned ? I am worried that water can seep in and eventually cause some damage.
