what was your worst thunderstorm experience?

Two experiences come to memory- The first was on an O'Day Day Sailor (sixteen foot center board sailboat) about 30 years ago on Lake Ontario. At the time, I was about 35yrs old and had a strong young crew about 25 yrs old. We were racing in the National Championship and the wind kept building...

    New Grady Owner

:<>< :welcome You are going to love this boat. I bought a 1997 voyager(yamaha 0x66 250) last year and had a great time on it all spring, summer and a bit of fall. The highlight was a 7 day cruise from Marblehead to Casco Bay and return. This summer the group(cyc) is going to mystic seaport...

    Too many Grady's, too confusing.

Hi ! I too was a sailor (sailboat racing all my life -IOD's rhodes 19 flying scots oday day sailors) and went to the "dark side" last year and bought a 24 ft. grady white voyager 1997. My wife and I like the boat very much. It is a walk around with a very nice sized cuddy cabin. It has plenty...

What kind of wax did you use before and did you also put it on by hand ? Is the Starbrite finish equal to the wax or almost and mainly a heck of a lot easier ? Thanks- I am getting ready to clean my 24 Grady-(I am new to the boat and have inside storage) Lew

Thanks rich I will take a picture as soon as it stops storming here and send you a copy. I took a bunch of picture to post here before, went to a site to download them and did not quite work out. Hard top Delaminating

I am not very good posting pictures. However describing what I see I would say it looks like a very thin outer layer of the hard top is flaking and peeling. It is a small area on the side of the hard top -about two inches long and the full width of the side -about an inch and a half _guesstimate.

    Hard top Delaminating

Hi Guys-Girls? So I just finished reading some posts on the Marlin 30 and a fellow was describing his only problem with his Marlin was (vintage late 90's) some delamination on the hard top which Grady replaced. So I have about 3inches at the edge that is starting to Peel and delaminate. I...

Help with possible 248 Voyager purchase

Hi ! I have owned a 24 voyager 1997 250 ox 66 yamaha since Nov. and put it in the water in May 15. In general, I love the boat and its performance. The numbers you cite for the performance of the twins 115 yama 4 strokes should make you very happy. Cruising at 25 or 27 with gas mileage at...

    woody wax

So I just went to West Marine and bought some woody wax non skid spray bottle. I read all the instructions and went to the web site. I am still a little confused about the application on the hull. How do you apply this product to the hull ? Is it designed only for non skid deck applications ...

    265 handling dialed in

Great going ! I too had a learning curve with my 24 voyager -it took me a few weeks of running under different sea conditions to figure it out. My main problem was fooling around too much with the trim tabs -constantly adjusting them and not paying more attention to motor trim and angle of...

    Towing a Rubber Inflatible

I am planning a cruise to Maine on my 24 ft. voyager and was considering taking(towing) an 8ft. inflatible dingy with me. Has anyone done this for any distance. In medium seas 2-3 ft. would the dingy be stable when the boat was on a plane 20 -23mph ? Any advice appreciated-Lew

    chafing bowpulpit -mooring lines

I solved the problem -thanks to our Grady White Dealer in Middleton Ma. Th fix involved widening the stainless steel tangs at the end of the roller assembly on the bowpulpit. The GW dealer was so helpful that he lent me a two foot iron pipe that I used to lever the bending of the tangs. The job...
