    Yamaha tach not getting signal

Nice work! The trouble shooting I researched did mention a fuse that should be checked but to be honest, I assumed that if the fuse was bad, the gauge would be black ( not display any data) Learned something new:)

    205 Tournament w 200hp Yamaha and 15 1/2 x 17 prop. Is this the factory standard?

Calculated slip at 5200 revs is a bit over 20% which seems high to me. The typical prop diameter for F200 in-line four is 14 1/2 inch diameter, 17 or 18 pitch

    Temp sensor on B75H transducer

The Airmar B75H transducer should not be turned on when it is not in the water to avoid over heating. My question is : When the transducer is disabled using the Garmin 8616 MFD, the sonar definitely stops but does the temp sensor stop working also. Mine does not send temp data but I was sure it...

If Command Link, the info comes over the CAN bus from the CDI (ECU). The ECU apparently get the signal from the I found this posting about the same issue. the tach send terminal can be checked using the AC meter function and a known good ground. dark green is tach send, yellow is key on 12V...

    Sea Keeper Freedom 307

I stopped by the Seakeeper booth at the NY Boat show as well as the Dometic booth to see their new gyro y=system. AsI thought, you can not self install, mainly because there are structural issues to be looked into. The Dometic was interesting having some innovative features, the most interesting...

    Freedom 225 CommandLink (6Y9) Alternatives?

If you want to display engine info on the Garmin MFD, you will need to add a NMEA200 gateway to to be able to talk to Command Link data. You will also need a NMEA 200 backbone network if you don't already have one

HPDI 200 - how smooth should it run at low RPM?

Many of the 6 cyl 2 strokes turn off 2 cylinders at low revs (below about 1100 revs). The motors will run rougher. Rougher does not mean, really slow down and 'cough' or sputter or even stall. Those events are not normal but are common for the reasons I mentioned earlier. There are other...

Freedom 285 Side Pocket Netting Gone---Ideas fro Filling Holes

Spectrum color makes gel paste in Grady colors, For the size of the bottle, it is expensive but is the easiest way to patch and 'match' the gelcoat. Perfect match may not be possible if the are has faded due to the sun over the years but shadded areas may look pretty good

    Water flow thru tell-tale

? Are you saying that with the flush port stored in normal operation and with the motor running in the water , there is no telltale flow? That is not normal and needs to be researched. When using the flush port, engine off and a garden hose, no telltale is common. There just isn't enough flow...

    Bow Rail Segmented?

The multi piece railings are not as rigid or strong as single. A safer and maybe easier solution might be to install multiple individua; sections of grab rail. ( More fiberglass work though.

    Sea Keeper Freedom 307

Was it an option for your model year? If not, installing it can be a big job. The gyro puts the hull structure under very large forces and the stringers and bulkheads need to be stronger than usual. I also thought and I could be wrong' that you can not buy and self install. You must use a...

HPDI 200 - how smooth should it run at low RPM?

I may have said this before but I am lazy and don't want to reread all the posts:) Carbon buildup on the plugs can have more to do with the precision oiling system on Yami 2 strokes and less on the brand of oil. First easy step is to check the oil linkage for proper adjustment. Buildup may be...

    Bow Rail Segmented?

Lowering the rail may be a tricky task. The job is not as simple as shortening the struts. Because of the geometry of the struts, the new spacing between struts will change. In that case you would need to relocate the stantions for the struts and that means the old holes have to be filled and...

    Bow Rail Segmented?

I had to replace one side of my railing as a result of damage during Sandy. I ordered from a Grady dealer who had to order from the factory. The railing section was $600 if I remember correctly and another $500 or so for shipping. The dealer gave me the option of free shipping if I paid up front...
