Hey all, here is the belated follow up: We went with Tuff Trailer, Custom aluminum out of Ferndale, WA. It was about $1,500 more than the Load Rite with comparable options, couldn't be happier, 7k capacity, smooth as silk behind the Tundra, $13K out the door. Thanks for everyone's input on this...

I am in Tofino BC for a couple of weeks, gonna pull the trigger a week or 2 after we return. BTW, quick fish story: We booked a charter trip since we couldn't take our boat, hit our limits of 20lb Chinook and were fishing rockfish and my buddy hooked in to a 70LB Hali - 2 inches too long, had to...

Yeah, I just looked at their site, they look very solid. Says clearly not for I-beams, though could be outdated, I'll call them tomorrow.

Exactly this. Especially when using a ramp without a dock they are a godsend. Funny though, every manufacturer charges about $1k for them (1 exception) The most expensive ones that I could find to install yourself was about $250, so that is the way to go, though I have yet to find them for an...

Yup. BTW Parthery, I contacted both Loadmaster and Float On: Loadmaster: Spoke to Fred as instructed, Exactly what I wanted and more for $8,600. Problem is, shipping to WA using their guy is $6K ($2/mile). Looked it to Loadmaster a bit, sound like great Trailers, too bad. Might be able to find...

Thanks Parthery, I will contact them tomorrow. Though we are leaning toward the Load Rite we are not purchasing for a month because we have a 2 week vacation we are leaving for soon. In the meantime I will continue to research. I hate spending 10K+ for a trailer, but since we are doing it, want...

I have found them to be very helpful in guiding a boat in, particular if in current or wind. We also tend to be on a lot of different ramps that we are not familiar with, some without docks, they are especially helpful in those cases.

Carpeted boards with brackets, about 5 feet long. In my initial search I have not found them for I-beam, but will eventually I am sure. If nothing else I can retrofit the ones designed for galvanized. Thanks family affair, I'll check that site.

Mustang: Yep contacted Defiance, have a quote for a 6,300 capacity trailer: Load Rite Elite Aluminum Trailer: $7,500 EOH: $1,300 Stainless upgrades: $560 (Maybe overkill, but I am in the habit of letting nothing but Stainless get anywhere near my boats) Bunk side guides: $1000 (Seems way...

Quick update: Trailer quote from Pirate Marine(recommended by Family affair) in Ohio for Aluminum Load Rite with everything that I want: Guide rails; EOH; Stainless hardware; 8400# capacity: $8,951, for the 6K capacity it was $8,031, nothing in between. Much better than prices here thus far. My...

    Trailer opinions please...

Yes, Parthery, this is the case. Most manufacturers will add the EOH upgrade for $700-$1k (On the Karavan they came standard). BTW, for those who have not explored EOH, I am reading a lot of good things about them especially for heavier loads or those pulling near capacity of their rig. I have...

Thanks Mustang, I will call them in the morning - They are closed now. Yeah, I have been trying to shop around but not seeing a lot of difference in price outside of the Venture Aluminum at $8K (and the one Mustang mentioned). The problem with the Venture is that near all I have read about them...

Thanks for the replies thus far, if anyone has a dealer they like anywhere in the country that will ship I am willing to look in to that option as it may well be cheaper than buying here in the Seattle area where everything is expensive. Thanks again, Dave.

Hi all, I have a 2002 Seafarer 228. Current trailer: King galvanized 4600 capacity. This is our 2nd season with the boat, just had second tire blowout, tires are 8 years old, replacing all on Friday. Question 1: Is this enough Trailer for this boat, by my calculations, no, but how much wiggle...

Considering 22 Seafarer with Offshore bracket - feedback on brackets?

Hi folks, I have: 93 Tournament 20 foot. Close to buying: 95 Seafarer 22 with offshore bracket - it is the thinner V-type that just goes back to the motor with kicker off hull. Yamaha 4 strokes all around, not exactly sure of HP of main engine as he already pulled ad, we are that close to a...

    Busted window

I managed to shatter the glass on the walk-through window on my 19 Tournament while installing new window clasps. I called Grady and they gave me the part # and a phone # for a guy named George. I have called him twice and he hasn't been in his office either time, so he couldn't take my order -...

    Kicker Bracket

Thanks for the advice (and the offer), I went with the Garelick. I wanted to go cheap ($300) as I will switch to a new 4 stroke kicker with electric tilt and fixed mount over the next couple of years. The holes didn't match perfect, but a little drill work on the bracket provided that I didn't...

    Kicker Bracket

Hey Folks, just bought a 1992 Tournament 19 upgrading from a Arima Sea Hunter 15. The boat comes with a 1999 Yamaha 9.9 4-stroke kicker sitting on an old OMC bracket that is completely shot with elongated holes and no hydraulics. The motor does not have power tilt so a fixed bracket is...
