Red push button fuses in power box?

Those red push button breakers are terrible. I rebuilt the panel on my 300 Marlin with new battery switches and Blue Seas breakers. This was before it was completely finished but you get the idea.

Repower to Suzuki 300’s need pros/cons

I have owned a total of 5 DF300's on different boats and all have been flawless. Never a warranty claim. The DF300's on a 300 Marlin (2004) turn 16 X 18.5 Suzuki props but actually ran better (less ventilation and slightly better MPG) with Eco Enertia 16X18's. Right about 46MPH at WOT and...

Rocket Launcher Rod Holders? 330 Express

I called WMW about the holder before I had mine made by PalmettoTrooper. They were much more expensive and I also wanted mine lower and as you can see in the pictures mine drops off the top a few inches and the holders are welded towards the top of the tulip so they are a little lower. We...

Rocket Launcher Rod Holders? 330 Express

I had rod holders made by “Palmetto Trooper” over on THT. Impossible to get a hold of but nice guy and does great work at a great price. They are for sure high even though I had him weld towards the top of the rod holder to lower them. They are great for the ride out and back offshore to keep...

    repower

Suzuki DF300B’s use contra rotating props and run on regular gas. I just went from DF300AP’s (single prop) to the 300B’s and the twin propeller motors are more efficient by .2-.3 mph so far and the boat is totally hooked up and does not lose propeller grip. It’s also faster at the same rpm by...

    Lighting

I used this brand. The WiFi rgb that lets you change the color with the app. I used the strip lights. They are very high quality and have lasted a few years so far without issue. https://seamasterlights.com/

Removing a Fischer Panda from a 330 Express

I removed my FP4200 from my Marlin last year to fix a clogged raw water passage on the gen end. Disconnecting everything (fuel in and out, raw water in and out, exhaust, 12V power in, 12V power out, control connections) is time consuming and tedious because you need to mark it all to get it...

    Stringer seperation in 2004 Marlin

Also the open hose is the end of the bilge blower which should be open to pull fumes out. The cracked area is not an outside portion of the hull. The stringer is a couple feet up from the keel. Outside and more starboard of the cracked area is where the 4 batteries are mounted.

    Stringer seperation in 2004 Marlin

Not the OP but also have an 04 Marlin. It’s a 30 gallon freshwater tank. I haven’t had it out but have removed the shelf in front of it. All that looks stock and just like my 04. The photo is looking aft. That freshwater tank is on the centerline and against the transom and the Fischer Panda...

    30 Marlin AC power

Of course my POS Panda is AGAIN not working, I tried my 2000 watt Yamaha generator just to run the heat for one day trip and it would not start the AC unit. I don’t think 2k is enough.

    Repowering 2004 Marlin

I also have an 04 Marlin and we have repowered it with Suzuki DF300’s. Great engines. Zero issues for me and I’ve owned 5 of them across different boats. I get 1.3-1.4 mpg at cruise typically 28-32 mph and I get about 44 Mph wide open. Electronic controls are all you can get on a DF300 and...

    30 Marlin

I also own a 2004 Grady. Much of the boat uses wood coring above the waterline and in fact the entire hull sides are wood cored. I had the boat surveyed when I bought it 2 years ago and it is very dry. I added a thru Hull fitting for an additional bilge pump and confirmed the wood coring in that...

    Marlin questions

I have an 04 Marlin but I have Suzuki 300’s. I have the diesel generator as well. Honestly I usually run the AC at the dock with shore power and rarely run it away from the dock. We may use the boat differently than some though in that we do not sleep on it on the hook. I’d have any original...

Surface mount electronics on a 1999 300 marlin

Sorry I missed this question... No I don’t miss the space. The Marlin has so much assorted storage space around the helm it’s crazy. The port and starboard cubbies on the sides, the cubby just inside the cabin, the port overhead electronics box is empty etc. The Suzuki 300’s are incredible...

    New Battery Config for 265

Have you considered adding a BEP battery cluster? I only suggest this because it will combine and then isolate your batteries automatically. This really works well for the setup your designing with three battery banks. No need to really access the switches as you just turn the on and off one...

    Wide beam hull delamination

Harpoon it will usually show up during survey when the hull is checked with a moisture meter. It’s the hull sides aft above the waterline. I’d have the boat surveyed to determine if it’s a major issue or not. Good luck

    Under gunnel LED installation

On my previous boat and now on my Marlin I used the same method. I cut small 1-2” square pieces of 3/4” pressure treated plywood. I painted the blocks although that’s probably not required since they are to be installed under the gunnel. Every 12” or so I used an adhesive to bond them in place...

2004 Grady Marlin Underwater lights location *SOLUTION*

By the way I got the same drawing from Grady and 9” inboard of the trim tab seems way inboard behind the engines. I’ve seen a bunch of 30’ Grady’s new and all the lights are much closer to the trimtab and outboard of the engines. That’s where I mounted mine. Scott

2004 Grady Marlin Underwater lights location *SOLUTION*

I also have an 04 Grady Marlin. I didn’t want to drill additional holes in the transom and I already had a transducer wire from a previous owner installation going over the transom so I installed 2 Seablaze X lights on 1” thick starboard discs that I bonded to the transom and ran the wires to...
