    Autopilot for 330 Express

Try a TR-1 Try a TR-1 before you buy...See if you can find a boat with one to give you a demo....you won't have any questions after that. My berth is one mile from the end of the jetties and usually very busy. I drive the boat (2006 300 Marlin) all the way to the berth in a no wake zone and...

    Theft attempt on F250's

Went to the Marina today to plug up the shore power and run the charger. That done I noticed that the F250's didn't look "right" from the pilot's chair, sort of one east the other west...walked back and saw the steering conector rod was disconnected and allowing the engines to "Splay". The boat...

    led cockpit lights

LED Lights and Fires? Go on THT and do a search for LED Cockpit lighting... saw something about fires caused by wiring delivering too much voltage for the LED to handle over time...sorry to be so vague but don't remember the fix...only that a lot of kit suppliers don't address this.

    Butterfly Jigs / Opinions???

Butterfly Jigs....? Back to the original question...Here in Fla. The butterfly Jig is starting the really catch on. The opinions are all over the map. All I can say is that if I"m going after bottom fish or Kingfish on structure, I won't go without Butterfly Jigs...gas costs too much to boat...

Question for Owners Who Tow Frequently

Towing.... I used to tow a 19ft. CC from Orlando to Titusville FL. The rig weighted in at 3800lbs. and I was driving a GMC Jimmy rated at 5000 lbs. O.A.C. tow capacity. I found out that O.A.C. meant "Off a Cliff" and that there was a mountain between Orlando and Titusville even though it...

    Hot Water

Hot Water in the stern? Sounds like a winner to me...don't know if anyone has done it yet but I know that my last boat had a dual input faucet ( but only the "cold" was plumbed) near the transom door. Please post the results if you do this.

    Learned My Lesson

I've learned my lesson about when to mount the enclosures around the bridge of my G/W. Spent the entire afternoon grappeling with the stiffest, meanest, ornreyest "canvas" enclosure known to man. I barely came out alive. Nothing fit! I finally broke down and called G/W and the kind folks...

    33 express

Ponce Inlet 8 footers Honestly...there were eight foot swells blowing froth and a USCG 47 footer posted at the mouth of the Inlet the day Eric Kelly of PlayTwo Marine took us for the SeaTrial. The USCG boat turned around several smaller craft but just waved the G/W on. Great endorsement if...

    33 express

Sea Trial a 33? What's the big deal about to sea trial or not....it's just like getting married to a person you've never met! I'd sea trial a boat even if I was just moving up a few years on the same make and model. Those few hours spent may include a suprise that includes a lot of remorse...

    Finally bought a Marlin

300 Marlin Congratulations....you will love that boat. Did you get the genset/AC option? I noticed you are from the cold country and that A/C-Heat pump is wonderful....even though I live and fish in Florida. Just checked it today. If you have those options there is a really good add-on that...

    Checked out the new gradies

Inboard Pursuits...? Just checked the website for Pursuit boats...even their new OS 375 will feature 350 Yamahas...no inboards to be found. Seatrialed their 33 last year ( it wore twin F250's ) and found it to be a really well built boat but a little too Cruise oriented for what I wanted. The...

    canister life raft on 282?

Liferaft Mounting..... Not trying to tell you folks what to do but consider this....I'm told that a large grady (fellow was talking about a 23' Gulfstream) will probably capsize if swamped due to the weight of the hardtop....Ok, now if the liferaft canister is hardtop mounted and now is 8 to 10...

    Trailering Sailfish and Gulfstream

Trailering Larger G/W's in Florida I don't know if Florida's DOT is getting picky or not since I didn't buy a trailer for the Marlin but I've trailered a Hydra Sports that is a Gulfstream Clone for a great many years and one thing I know does excite the local Law down here is when they see...
