    1990 Marlin Refurb questions

There is a 28Marlin in my Marina that has sat most all summer, up for sale. Talking to a slip buddy, it might be in your price range. I walked by it for a look, more than a few times, and if I was in the Market, would inquire about it.. I have no first hand info, but the boat has Yam.250's...

Automotive Wiper Arms...anyone using them? Thanks!

My, those marine replacement blades are expensive. I tried finding, and making just a refill blade, but never had any success. Went to the junkyard and grabbeb a arm from a s-10 blazer and cut off the last six inches from the U. Drilled two holes thru it and the Grady wiper arm and bolted. Just...

    1977 25 ft GW Kingfish

To cool. Looks good so far, except the pics are on the small side. I have had a 79 kingfish going on five years now. After buying it, I have never even considered another boat. Thats a first. Hope you keep us updated, I would love to see how the changes turn out. I like the bench idea. Guess...

Repairing Teak Cabin door and Glueing teak?

Best Glue is Gorilla Glue. I made a solid teak pulpit that has been in the elements for four years, held togeather with only glue. Reglued my swimplatform and used the glue for filling in cracks at some joints as a filler. This is some crazy tough stuff. Can be found at almost any HD, Lowes...

New Owner 1983 Kingfisher 25'5" Twin Mercruiser 470 Inb

On my 78 Kingfish, I used Perko chrome over bronze thru-hull fittings 1.5" in size. I to searched the difference in SSteel, Bronze, Titanium, etc. and was concerned about corrosion. In the end, it seemed plastic was the answer, but not what I wanted to hear, since my thruhulls are a good three...

bottom paint and saving fuel costs...

My initial thought was a guestimate of @60 bucks a foot complete. Thus a 25ft. boat would come in @ $1500. I was off base by a long shot. I can't trailer the boat, so any work done would have to be at my Marina. Kinda hard to get firm cost so far. But I can see the price going over the $100 a...

90-23' Gulfstream Repower IO Volvo Penta DP

Have the same set-up in a 25ft. kingfish. Did you have the motor and drive checked out? If I had to repower complete, I would stay with VP. Only for the VP DP system, even tho it cost three grand more for complete system. 22k is alot of bucks, but I guess you know more about what you have...

    heated cuddy

Yep, my vote goes for the little Buddy. I tried firing up the original alcohol stove, its thirty years old, and looks like it has never been used. I followed the directions on the stove to a t. Fill tank a 1/4 full, pump a few times, open knob till lower burner pan fills with fluid and light...

bottom paint and saving fuel costs...

Jimmy, thanks for the reply, soda blasting should not increase engine rpm due to less drag etc? Yes, I want to clean the twenty years of old paint off, in hopes of adding a few knots to the cruise range. I bought the old girl with c-4 props on it, that had a good amount of cavitation burn...
