Fogging Yamaha F225 4 stroke engines

One last question. Should you run you engine until it stalls before storing it? Is this the same with a carburated engine and a fuel injected engine, as I have one of each. I get the advice about draining the fuel line, but should the engine be run dry? Thanks.

Coast Guard Over-Reaching the Law in Chesapeake

It's getting to be where you have to have a lawyer or a politician on board the boat WITH you. I think the problem is youth. Too many of our law enforcement people are too damn young, and at times, at times mind you, there is a weeee bit if an ego problem. Reminding them of this is not something...

Coast Guard Over-Reaching the Law in Chesapeake

We go through the same thing up here on the Canadian/New York border. The St Lawrence IS the border for a long way. The Canadians like ropes on the throwables, while NY doesn't specify. I carry both. We also go through a dance with flare guns. Canadians have outlawed everything, and I've gotten...

    270 Islander

Up here, Tohatsu is only well thought of by the people who own them. Not many around, but those that are run forever with no problems whatsoever. Never met anyone with any direct experience who did not love 'em. Now, E-Tec. Dealers seem to love them. My guess is because they are kicking back...

the right trailer for my new 232 gulfstream

Hey CJBrown, Just so you know, I appreciate the history lesson. I live on the St Lawrence River, on the Canadian border in upstate NY. I don't get to travel too much, and you taking the time to tell us about your part of the world is, to me, very interesting. I'll bet I'm not alone...

    What's This? A New 30ft Walk-Thru?

Hey, don't throw rocks or nothin' but, isn't that a beautiful Albin next to NOTHING ELSE MATTERS? That sure is a nice boat. I wouldn't want it as it has no 57" HDTV monitor and drink mixer.

    What's This? A New 30ft Walk-Thru?

I think we're all nuts. How else can we explain our willingness to spend the money we spend on these things? I think we're all into different kinds of features, probably because we use these boats in so many different settings. There be the waterfront property owners, cruisers, trailer folks...

    What's This? A New 30ft Walk-Thru?

Hey Bob. Good post. I see where you got yourself chided on the other thread. Both sides make sense. I enjoy your posts, I really do. Carry on, Sir.

    What's This? A New 30ft Walk-Thru?

Gooooolllllllyyyyyyy. Go to the GW site. That 700ft dual console is up and running, called a 307 tournament. It's got a BOW-THRUSTER, seats 50, hard top, hot tub, movie theatre, heated seats, and a small landing strip. Now all I need is two more jobs. Boy is it nice.

$67,785 for a 20 foot boat! Do I laugh now?

I don't feel insulted, I just feel like there is no sense in looking. As in, I'll find another love than the water. More specifically, there's another love than Grady White. I appreciate all the encouragement. I will keep looking, used market especially. I had never purchased new before, and...

$67,785 for a 20 foot boat! Do I laugh now?

I'd be happy if that were the case. I don't know if the guy is serious or whether this is just part of the negotiation process. Some items on the quote include $650 to put the engine on, $750 dealer prep, steering is $1460, fenders/cleats/anchor $550. I'm beginning to think GW believes that...

$67,785 for a 20 foot boat! Do I laugh now?

I've been shopping, reading what you guys have to say and looking at the market. I just asked my local dealer for a price quote on a 20' Tournament. The number I get back, now this is for a new, 2009 model with a 250hp four stroke , canvas, washdown, and paddles, is $67k! This doesn't include...

    What's This? A New 30ft Walk-Thru?

Well, for those who are watching this. The link for the new 30ft Dual Console was put up, then taken down by "Gremlins". I never had any respect for "Gremlins". But I can take a hint. I guess GW told our leadership that we had to wait. So, we wait.

    What's This? A New 30ft Walk-Thru?

OK. Someone else brought it up first. I'm hearing about a new 30ft Tournament model. Supposedly out in the next couple weeks. What better place to spread rumors than right here with us GW lovers. Talk to me. I hear it is nuclear powered, helicopter equipped, and has two stealth modes. I also...

I'm never ceased to be amazed at how boaters help other boaters out. This thread is yet another example. Well done, Australia.

    grady drive questions

I'm trying to make decisions about a purchase. Right now I'm leaning towards the Grady 225. Guys, please tell me the pros/cons of the Grady Drive. It sure does make that boat look long, which might complicate things at the dock. But is the ride that much better? How about trailering issues? How...

    Future of Boating & GW

the future of boating I agree with the poster who stated it's not specifically the gas prices we have to worry about, but the overall effect energy prices have on just about every aspect of the economy. I go though my anti - Democrat/Republican/big business/government tirade as does everyone...
