    my two cents from experience; pay a reputable boat builder type to go through the entire hull and systems. if he gives a thumbs up then hire a yamaha mechanic to go through the motor. will cost a bit more but you'll get a better idea of if the vessel is worth your money and time.

    strange turning issue

    there was both wind and current, but i was going with the current and wind was coming at me from the port side. that was one of my initial thoughts as well but since I had a similar occurance last year I thought it was something more.

    figured there would be much larger issues as well if there was an accidental lower unit swap. i did check the lower unit zincs when I came in and they were both tight and straight back

    OX66 issues stalling??

    would not do the VST in the water if at all possible. as for parts I use baert marine, but in all honesty have never really shopped them against anybody for price, I also believe there is a very reputable yamaha supplier that has many refferals on here, SIM marine maybe???

    any ideas?

    no issues with idle, I guess ignorance on my part. I was increasing rpms gradually to warm up motor. It appears this is not a proper procedure on my part.

    was using the override to increase rpms while not in gear. did the same thing for the port motor and was able to increase gradually to about 2300 as I normally do every year.
