    You didn't mention 2 or 4 stroke. I have a 250HP 2 stroke on a 226. Motor is great but loves fuel. With the price of gas you might want to keep that in mind.

    Thanks for the replies. Electronics box is only on the drivers side. The same thing happens with the spray which is what started me wondering. The flag sounds like a great idea.

    2000 226 Seafarer w/ hardtop. At the bow where the railing meets there is a hole/socket about 1/2 inch in diameter in the top of the railing. It also has a threaded hole for a set screw.     Does it have the hoses that run from the poppet area to the side of the water jacket? Maybe one of them collapsed or kinked?

    You say you pulled the starboard head cover. By this do you mean the water jacket? I had a similar problem on a friends motor and the water jacket had clogged with salt. Just a thought.

    Ozzy: The one I used was flared on one end and you just had to flare the other. I used a variation on Nothing Else Matters idea. Threaded rod with washers and a copper pipe adapter. I think it was a 3/4 to 1". Flared perfectly. Also, make sure you anneal the tube before flaring. Heat till...
