    Canvas Enclosure Repairs

I have recently purchased a used 2004 Sailfish and the enclosures need some work. The condition of the canvas is fair. I would say that about 2 snaps per panel needs to be replaced at the window attachment. The fasteners for the roll up straps are somewhat pitted. They have all seemed to...

    Raymarine Electronics Question

I have recently purchased a used 2004 Sailfish. Current electronics includes a Garmin 188 c. I am thinking of upgrading to a new Raymarine A70D, taking advantage of the current rebate. Now, my question is this: A: Should I flush mount the A70 and keep the 188C and fush mount that as well (...

    Finally got my Grady

Congratulations, I too just took ownership of a new to me Grady, but it is a 2004 Grady White 282, with 300 hours. I looked hard at the 265 Express, and looked at a 2005 on Long Island several weeks ago. Beautiful boat. After reading so many positive comments and spoken at lenght ot a 265...

    Pursuit 0s285 vs 282 or 300

I am in a very preliminary stage of looking at upgrading. At various boat shows, I have climbed on the Pursuit and always came away more impressed with the Grady lineup, but that could be my clouded vision of the brand. I do like my Grady White design and features. Now, I want to upgrade, and...

want general advice on 22 seafarer

I have had a 226 since 2004 and I think it is a great design for my use. It has a hard top and a F225. I primarily use it in the Chesapeake, but for 6 weeks, move it down to Cape May NJ. I have trailered it to Hatteras, NC and Raritan Bay outside of NYC. We use it for watersports, fishing...

    Wiring harness connector to GPS

/thanks, I ended up replacing connector harness. I will also heat shrink the connectors to the terminal block and some moisture preventive grease in the connector.

    Wiring harness connector to GPS

I tried the spray, but this was not effective. This is where I am in the troubleshooting: 1: The pin harness had corrosion, so I wire burshed the small copper female pin sleeves that are within the harness receiver. 2: As I wire brushed, the red wire pin connector copper sleeve (power)...

    Wiring harness connector to GPS

I noticed for the first time, the green residue of corrosion on the pin conncetor to my GPS unit. The corrosion in on the female connector. So, since these connector slots are so small, what is the most effective way to remove the corrosion. the current result of this corrosion is no...

    265 Express

I have never ridden on a 265 and have not been on one since a 2004 boat show, so I have some questions: I have a question relating to the ergonomics of the starboard and bench seats. On the 2004/2005 models it looks like a back rest was added between the bench and the seats on the...

    265 Express

I have another question: My useage to date is primarily drift fishing/bottom fishing in tthe Chesapeake Bay and off of Cap May, just offshore. I troll at times, and this may increase. Anyway, when I have been drift fishing in the ocean, and the swells kick up, I notice how the...

    265 Express

Thanks for the reply. I also wanted to know how tough it might be to scramble to the front, and back during the process of getting the boat out of or back into a slip, when the weather is somewhat squirly, with wind and or current. During solo operation I find myself getting to front cleats...

    265 Express

I wanted to know if anyone uses the 265 for pulling skiiers and tubes. At times in the summer, we use the boat to just anchor, swim and play water sports. It seems that the access from the cockpit to the swim platform is less than ideal, since there is not a seat to use as a foot stool...

    made a mistake:water in Fuel

I had my marina service mechanic pull a sample and there was no apparent water within the sample. He assured me that the pick up was off the bottom of the tank. So, I will run the boat, and keep tabs on the fuel filter/water separator. I have a spare, and will be diligent in checking on the...

    made a mistake:water in Fuel

Thank you for the replies. I will sample the fuel, and then determine corrective action. Hopefully the sample will confirm that the amount of water is small, and the additive and water separator will have done it's job. I will post results, and thanks again. Lesson learned.

    made a mistake:water in Fuel

My dealer service man stated that if there were 1% or less of water in the tank, by volume, then I should be ok, assuming I added a water asborber. Any advice?

    made a mistake:water in Fuel

Well, the fill is on the top of the gunnel, facing upwards, and I can only imagine that if a cup were placed there, I would suspect about an inch or more would be in that cup after the rain. So I assume that any water could be a major problem.

    made a mistake:water in Fuel

Short story: Trailered my boat the other night from house to Marina, late, in heavy rain. I stopped at gas station, filled up boat gas tank, and apparently forgot to screw fuel cap on. Trailered to destination, dropped trailer, and left. This was Three nights ago. Marina put boat in...

    Yamaha F225 Telltale advice

I had my F225 in for yearly service at dealer. They performed a 400 hour maintenance check. I have 377 hours. They replaced the impeller during this check. Anyway, I picked it up without checking, did my ususal boat prep for the spring, and launched today, and guess what. No telltale...

    Spring polishing and waxing

JiminGA That is a very nice shine, mine is not bad, but not like yours. I may try your process on the port side and compare to my completed starboard side of the hull. However, does your top side gunnel look as well, and if so, that is what I am trying to achieve. When the weather...
