I've a 209 Escape, new to me.
Sweet boat.
Wondering what is might be like, without the plastic windshield - which seems to spoil view.
Any experience in removing it?
Down side?
Inelegant appearance thereafter?
Difficult to do?
What am I missing here?
thanks

follow up:
kept at my filling station, and low and behold, finally filled; I just greatly underestimated what 10 gallons look like from my hose. Poor judgement on my part, yet again.
Thanks for help in sorting this out.

209, new to me.
Has a fresh water fill system, 10 gallon capacity.
I can find the fill site; as I try to fill it, seems I get nowhere.
Is there a drain site that needs to be plugged for this, that I am missing?
Thx guys, and pity my ignornance.

The dual battery set up on my 209 has four setting - "battery 1, battery 2, both and off". When would I use "off"? Should I turn to off whenever I leave the boat? What exactly will setting it to "off" allow to continue to work - bilge? engine trim switch? GPS?
Thanks in advance.

This week's puzzler:
I have a 209 Escape, and am on the water in a protected bay, with bulkhead, but no dock yet - [permits pending]. Sandy bottom, soft. Maybe 5-10' of beach. Tides about 2-3 feet in height, maybe 7 feet in length, to the bulkhead. Pilings at bulkhead. I want the boat at...
OK
I accept that, if I keep my previously pristine unpainted 209 in the salt water of eastern LI, I need to paint the bottom.
The folks doing this for me are suggesting I also paint the bottom portions of the engine - does this make sense? Not so intuitively obvious to me....
Thx

I have just taken ownership of a 2006 GW 209 that has a Garmin 3210 GPS. I have brought it up from South Carolina, am on North Fork of LI. I have to think software for this has changed over the last 4-5 years; how do I update software, and do I need also to get additional data cards for charts...
I am on Richmond Creek, on a quite little private road - Wood Lane - which is just off of Indian Neck Road. Indian Neck is about a 1/4 mile west of Peconic Lane. Bought the cottage in Sept, and been here every weekend since; it is a magical spot.

Folks
Just purchased a 2006 GW 209 Escape with YAM 150; having it hauled up from South Carolina. On RIchmond Creek in Southold, on the North Fork. New to all this and GW; reading the manual, not yet hands on with the boat. I have a basic embarrassingly naive question. What is the difference...
OK
Looks like this is a bit old but I am new to north fork and Grady white having just committed to a 209 fisherman. Being hauled up from charleston. Interested in local fishing and learning about my new boat
