Does anyone know why Grady does not recommend evan a very light tower ( under 200lbs ) on thier hardtops. Can’t imagine that would be a problem

I’m adding a small spotting tower to my boat this winter and just wondering if anyone has done this. The boat had twin 350’s so they are drive by wire and would the steering tie into the hydraulic’s that already exist. I plan on having it done by a professional but curious if anyone has done this

We’re exactly do you mean when you say cut the zipper tape? Would that be above or below the zipper. That would leave a small strip in the track of the window to remove also to remove , correct?

On my 2012 305 express which is the same hull as your Marlin. I have no issues with Airmar Transducer’s mounted in the factory flats

I think that might just be the answer. The front ones have never been off or open. Bought the boat new in 2012 And all my boating is offshore so there is plenty of salt. Thanks for advise

305 with a bow thruster and a little practice Is a breeze to handle alone, if with some wind in tight area. Just takes practice and the boat is as tank

Thank You for your input. I know in my heart it is not a good idea to just bolt a tower on it should be tied into the structural framework. It’s just good to hear it from others. I would like to think if Grady wanted towers on these express boats it would be a factory option with a huge price...

It’s true they like to drink fuel but if you really take time and trim the boat for the sea conditions you can get 1.2 mpg but it takes practice. I’m mainly interested if anyone has continued problems other than the flywheels. I don’t mind that because Yamaha will replace them for life if you do...

I have 2 on my 305 and I take it 80 miles offshore on a regular basis the flywheels and ECM were changed in 2017 and I never have a problem. I hope mine are the 2nd generation and they last a wile . Thanks for your reply
