    freshwater cockpit shower

I have a 2006 Sailfish 282 and the cockpit shower head is jammed and leaks. I need to replace it. Anyone know the make/part for a replacement? Is it just the head or the hose as well? Any help is appreciated!

    Sailfish 282 Electronics Upgrade

Exactly what I did. Mounted new 20' tilted element thru hull just forward and slightly outboard of old one, which I left in place. Almost done with new install.

    2006 282 Sailfish

I have the same boat/year. Love it. Only issue has been headliner cracks that happen in winter with extreme temp changes here in Mass. GW has taken care of them for me. Great support. I keep thinking I want to go bigger, but this is the perfect size for me.

    Sailfish 282 Electronics Upgrade

I have an '06 Sailfish 282 and am replacing the original Raymarine package. Have decided to go with Simrad NSSEVO2 12" display, 4G radar and RS 35 VHF. Will be installing a panel over the electronics box and flush mounting the display and radio. CHIRP Sonar will require a new XDCR, I am...

Did your headliner survive this winter?

Looking for Real World 282 Sailfish Performance #s

My 2006 282 with F225s gets me about 28mph at 4000 rpm and 1.4mpg. Occasionally i can get it to 1.5mpg. These are off the yamaha gauges. Top end is about 42mph and 5800-5900 rpm and I don't look at the MPG!! I usually have freshwater in the tank and at least half a tank of fuel. I can't...

HELP Me choose the right Grady!!!!

Sorry, didn't read the original post well enough... I am very familiar with the new Freedom 225, a good friend has one. Not so with the Tournament 225. Excluding the motor, here is what I would look for. Layout. How is the layout different between these models, does the Tournament have the...

    Help With Raymarine Plotter

I have a Raymarine C80 on my Sailfish 282 and I have recently realized the resolution in terms of chart features is really poor compared to firends with newer systems. Their Garmin and Simrad units show much more detail in bottom contours than mine. Where mine simply shows flat bottom, theirs...

Help me choose: 232 vs. 265 vs. 282

Get the 282. I have one and boat in these waters from the South Shore. The 282 is a great hull for this area and can take you everywhere you want to go. I have a 2006 and no corrosion issues (knock on wood)...

282 Sailfish vs. Eastern Boats 27 Islander

I own a 282 ('06) and have seen a lot of Easterns around here. I think you are looking at two completely different boats and your decision will be more about what type of boat you want. I can tell you the Sailfish 282 is a tank. It handles the waters around MA and the Cape easily and is very...

Climbing onto and diving off hardtop..?

I take a dock line and loop it around the aluminum structure on one side of the top, then throw it over the top to the other side. Kids grab the line and use it to pull themselves up. Works great. I have had adults do it as well, although I don't venture up there...

Sailfish 282 with Jabsco Holding Tank Macerator

Careful handling that panel. It is very thin, and around the screw holes it can break very easily. Found out the hard way. I have an 06 with the electric jabsco pump mounted right next to the bowl. I replaced that unit, very simple job and it works well. My problem is the tank level...

    Anchoring/Mooring

Anyone used their anchor as a "backup" for a mooring? We have a mooring in an exposed section of Cape Cod Bay, where SW and NW winds can cause waves of 4 feet+. The mooring is a Helix and has been superb, I have had my 28' Sailfish on it in some pretty strong conditions no problem. The...

    Cooler size Sportsman 180?

You will not be able to open the cooler under the helm seat, you have to pull the cooler out. Its been 4 years since I sold my 180 so I can't remember the cooler size. But if memory serves me, the space is not as high as it needs to be to use the cooler that fills the space horizontally.

    282 Windlass

Thanks guys. Quick question, the current windlass is horizontal (?) meaning the "wheel" part that spins lays flat. The 700 FF is "vertical" in that the spinning wheel is upright. Not sure I have the terminology correct. Are the two interchangeable or do I need to get the same kind??

    282 Windlass

For the second straight year, my windlass is frozen after the shrink wrap came off. Last year we were able to get it working, but it is time to replace it. Would love to get your thoughts? I have a 2006 282. Any suggestions?

    What's GW's best seller?

At the NE boat show a couple weeks ago, the GW display had almost every Dual Console Freedom on display from 20' - 36'. They had 1 cabin boat the 330, and a couple of CC including the new bay boat. One of the dealers told me the dual consoles are about 70% of their business now.

Thanks for all the information - Sailfish 282!

I have a 2006 282 with F225 engines. No corrosion issues, just checked this fall. I have ahd the boat for 3 summers and have really enjoyed it. we have yet to overnight, perhaps this summer, as it is tough logistically to do with the family and all the activities. I runat about 28mph...
