It appears that "Spectrum" is the same kit that's sold by GW and which I've used successfully in the past. I just ordered one online from iboats and it came to $30.90 which includes shipping. As I recall, that's just a few dollars less expensive than purchasing via a GW dealer so I guess I'll...

Sounds like a lot of fun. I spent the last 2 Julys at Beacon Light and anticipate doing so again next year so I hope Beacon Light's raft up is a successful one and continues as an annual event. Pix from any attendees would be great :)

Good idea and I'll do just that. I appreciate the suggestion. Update: GW response... Looks like some more research to be done and that some modifications on the 255 door may be necessary. I'll be stopping by a Grady dealer or two for their thoughts. Sure would be a nice custom addition.

The addition of a hinged bow seating access door on the Freedom 255 is a wonderful feature. While I'm making do with a canvas solution, I'm curious why the door is apparently not offered in the 225 series. I was thinking that the 255 door just might fit on a 225....or come mighty close anyway...

Thanks for the continuing education...and I'm glad I brought up the subject. Do you think a velcro mount for the block would be ok? The thought of mounting screws pointed anywhere near the confines of the electronics compartment ( :noob ) gives me the shivers.
