    Stupid Question??

Some companies have a "lay-up" period where you commit the boat will be out of the water and not in use. I've adjusted my lay-up period to be shorter (allowing me more time in the water) and it has not impacted my premium but I'd guess that a longer lay-up period would mean a lower premium.

We never did end up putting it in but I've been looking still. Fusion now has 5 and 6 channel amps which can power 2 sets of speakers and sub. If I do anything, it will likely be that setup. I've contemplated where the amp will go and think the best place would be in the storage under the...

    Pompanette Platinum Chair Adjustment Lever

I figured I'd bring this to the brain trust, I'm trying to figure out what this lever does and if it's worth me taking the seat apart to try and repair it. I've got a 2006 330 Express with the Pompanette Platinum Helm Chair (link...

    247 Advance transom issue

I had a 99' 272 Sailfish which had a similar problem as you are describing a few years back. I had my dealer fix it. They were able to pull the motors & cap, carve out the rot, fix it (not sure exactly what they did) and reseal everything so it would never be a problem again. They then put a...

    1994 252 Sailfish

Get a good understanding of the electronics package as well. Does it have a VHF, GPS, Depth and do they all work? A new electronics package for that boat can be anywhere from $1k to $8k depending on what you need to buy. I'd check that out as you go through the process. Otherwise, what...

    330 Express Wiper

Go into the cabin and look up right above the place you’d expect the wiper to be. There is a plastic housing with four screws. It should be under that cover.

    Running Genset at Cruise

I’m no expert in this category but I’ve been doing this for 3 - 4 years on my Express with no issues. On my sea trial for the boat (first one with a generator & AC) the surveyor and prior owner said it was common practice in the southern states. I was also just having the identical...

how to connect NMEA 2000 TO GARMIN

I just did a similar job with twin 2006 250s to the back of a pair of Garmin1242xsv. I used the J1939 port on the back of each Garmin to connect to the Yamaha network. I dont know if I did this right or not but it works. Part list: One: 6Y8-81920-01-00 Yamaha OEM Multi Hub Assembly One...

Valise coastal liferaft storage 2000 sailfish 272

How about mounted under the hard top or on deck but below the helm there was a decent size area down below the cupholder and speaker that extended down past the seat.

2003 265 Express Raymarine Radar and Fishfinder

I have these couple units sitting in my garage if you want to try them. I actually took these pictures last weekend intending to post them on this site for anyone interested. Everything worked when it was removed from the boat.

What's on your list for winter projects?

Hi all - I’m purchasing the parts I need to do number 2 above (my transom shower) and can’t remember the size of the freshwater hose in a 33 express. I’m about an hour and a half from the boat so am trying to get the fittings before I head that way. What size fittings do I need to fit the...

    NEMA 2000 NEMA 0183 2004 GW 33 Express

I have a similar project underway. I've got all the parts just need to do the install in the spring. With my 1243xsv I am adding a Yamaha Mult hub (part pictured above) and a Garmin J1939 connector which will go between the multihub and the MFDs. You can read more about it here...

What's on your list for winter projects?

I don't have any major projects planned for this spring. Just a few more simple things: 1. Connecting 2006 Yamaha 250s to Garmin MFDs 2. Install hot water to transom shower 3. Pull and re-seal vents on exterior of hull 4. Install high-water alarms in rear and forward bilge

    '92 Sailfish

Check out page 37 in this link. It will be helpful in trying to figure out, for anything that was factory added - the color schemes of the wires, what they power and where they go. For anything aftermarket..... good luck! https://gradywhite.blob.core.windows.net/media/22268/1992-owners.pdf

    '92 Sailfish

Right on, hopefully this all helps. The fuse panel up top controlled the spreader lights and the dome light in the cockpit as well as the vhf. I’d check those connections first. I think the cabin lights were run to the panel under the steering wheel. After almost 30 years I can imagine the...

    '92 Sailfish

In my 99 Sailfish (dont own it anymore) there was a fuse panel up top in the electronics box and a second under the steering wheel. I needed to replace the one under the steering wheel which got corroded over time. I'd check the condition and connections on of both of those to see if there are...

    Bilge High Water Alarm?

I've been looking at adding one (maybe two) as well and my biggest two concerns is that I'd like to be able to test it and I'd like one that is aesthetically appealing (just redid my electronics!). I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for just yet but did see this from New Wire recently...

Resealing of 33 Express Side Vent

You’re right. I was referring to the vents circled in the picture attached. Side note: my old boat (272 GW Sailfish) had the front and side windows which all leaked. I was able to fix them by resealing the outside edges with some marine grade silicone. You couldn’t tell it was done and they...

Resealing of 33 Express Side Vent

I hope I find the same. My plan was to use 4200 if I do need to add some sealant.

Resealing of 33 Express Side Vent

Hi all - I’m planning my spring projects out on this snowy evening. I’ve got a 2006 33 Express and have read all the stories of the wet transoms and wet coring on the side. I’ve seen plenty of folks post about the transom repairs but have not seen anyone post on how to reseal the side vents...
