Remote Spot and Aft Lights - Good or Bad idea?

I have a GO Light remote spot (hard wired) mounted on the hard top of my Offshore and spreaders for the aft deck. They don't get a lot of use but they are invaluable when I need them. The Go Light is not cheap at $500+...but it works as advertised.

    Fuel Cap 82 Offshore

Zackly Dennis! The whole fuel fill arrangement is bigger and sturdier than anything I can find now. It is only a plastic cap but nothing else will fit.

    Fuel Cap 82 Offshore

Hello All.....this might be a silly question but I have been wrestling with this for a few years now. I bought a 1982 Offshore a few years back.....did a ton of work and I am very happy with the boat but......when I bought it the previous owner told me the aux fuel tank was no good and not to...

    Fuel Gauge always showing full

What he said! I just spent a frustrating 30 minutes trying to line up the screw holes on my new sending unit. Also....if you change it keep the old screws...the screws that came with my new unit had a different thread than the old one.

1985 Grady White Offshore 240 steering wheel spins freely without moving the motors.

Chris.....do me a favor and look under the seat in the cabin right behind the bulkhead from the helm.....is there a pump/actuator in there?

1985 Grady White Offshore 240 steering wheel spins freely without moving the motors.

I had a 1985 and now own a 1982 Offshore....steering is hydraulic. My 1985 had a pump under the V Berth inside the cabin...opposite the helm...that you had to pump up with air from a bicycle pump ocasionally....take a look. Or as others have said....a gasket or something may have let go and you...

    Fuel Gauge Help Please

I do have a pie plate but I think the previous owner (many moons ago) changed out the tank and the sender is not aligned with the pie plate.

    Fuel Gauge Help Please

Hello All......I own a 1982 Offshore.....most everything has been replaced/restored to this point. I was out fishing last week and out of nowhere my fuel gauge for the main tank went out. I know I had at least 1/2 tank and the needle dropped to E. When I hit the switch to turn it on it twitches...

Finally learned why people don't like the 228 swim platform

Yes Lucky.....get her nose up in a following sea so you don't bow steer and work the throttle to try to keep her from surfing.

    Power 225 up to 300 24 offshore

I have had a few Offshores.....a 1985 with a Yammi 250....the boat had plenty of power for my tastes....would do a little over 40mph with 2 guys and a decent load of fuel and gear. That Yammi would still be running if not for hurricane Sandy. I now own a 1982 Offshore with a 225 E Tec.....37...

    While we are on batteries.......

Well....I will tell you Skunk......it was raining....I was wet and miserable.....I was not happy that it looked like I was going to be delayed in winterizing/covering the boat as I always end up in a race with the weather here in the NE. I let the boat get snow and ice in it once....never again...
