    Wanted Gulfstream or Fisherman

I'm considering selling my 2007 Gulfstream. It is in great condition. If anything, it could use an upholstery clean and refresh (some torn seams on a couple seats). It has twin Yamaha 150's w/ about 800 hours on each. It has a Furuno TZT2 mfd and radar as well as a Garmin 840xs / Airmar...

    232 vs 228?

Lucky, Come on down to Newport sometime and I'll gladly take you out on my Gulfstream 232. 2007 w/ twin 150's. I cruise to Catalina around 30mph and cruise home maybe just a scratch slower. I've found the boat like to move - I trim the motor just inward of neutral and put the tabs down 3 or 4...

232 Gulfstream: Props & Motor Height...

Motors in the second from lowest mounting height (top mounting bolt is in second from top spot). Do you really need a picture of this? Next time I'm at the boat I can take one, but it may be a few weeks.

    2000's gulfstream 232 repower with twin 150's?

I have a pair of 150's on my 2007. Sure I would take the 200's if they were sitting there, but I'm not sure I would pay a huge premium to have them. The 150's have been a great match for the boat and I have never felt underpowered - even with 4 or 5 guys on board.

windlass anchor does not park in correct position

I don't think you can swap the feet. It looks like they are welded to the arch bar that goes over the top of them. I can't tell from the picture, but If you rotate those feet as suggested, perhaps the whole anchor will tilt back and snug up to the roller. Ideally, you want the anchor pulled...

    Sea deck

I love the Gator-Step (similar to Sea Deck) on my Gulfstream. I figure I will get a good 5 - 7 years out of it, then will have to replace it, but it make the deck so nice to be on bare feet.

    Recommended VHF Antenna Length?

Here is my set-up for Primary and Secondary VHF: The Primary is a 6dB Morad 156 MHz tuned antenna on top of a 2' Stanchion. That puts the top of the antenna whip at just under 8' over the mount (total +-$215 direct from Morad) These are Top quality antenna, hand built in Washington...

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a "stem style" thru-hull?

    2020 Suzuki 9.9 kicker question

Sounds like either an enlarged prostate or a bad impeller. Inspecting/Replacing the impeller is probably the easier fix.

    Recommended VHF Antenna Length?

Check out Morad antennas. They are amongst the highest quality (all made in Washington) and fairly modular. You can buy the antenna whip and base, then pick the stanchion length that best suits your needs. If you go shorter and realize you would prefer more height, you can very easily add an...

Not a grady question but you guys know a bunch so

A buddy of mine had a cat (pretty sure it was a World Cat) a number of years back. I remember his thought was that the boat did great in chop, but he Hated driving it in swell. Lucky, Just to get another data-point on how these boats handle, I would be happy to take you out on my Gulfstream if...

Your experience with a hydrofoil (especially on a 228)?

I really did not want to reply to this, but I just can't help it: You guys are flogging a dead horse with this trim tab conversation. Back in April (and a few times since), we had a whole long discussion on this topic and now here we go again...

    Keel rash- thoughts?

I've repaired similar on a WHaler with Marine-tex. It worked really well. It goes on thick, then you can shape it a bit before it cures. Once cured and hard, just sand it to final shape and to blend into gelcoat.

Rhodan install on a 06 gulfstream

No install tips, but I am interested to hear how well this will hold a 232 in a breezy condition.

    Gulfstream 232 for overnights

A 2007 w/ twin 150's +- 800 hours at $40k would be a steal and seems way below market. Look very hard at the details. You may get the deal of the decade, or may be taking someone's problems off their hands. The 232 is cozy. Not a ton of extra room, but good for an overnight or two. The...

    Rainwater in Bilge?????

My 232 lives on a trailer. I get a decent amount of water in the bilge when it rains - even get some accumulation from the night time dew over the course of a few weeks. Not a big deal at all. If anything, the fresh water rinses out some salt water that may be in there. I try to keep it...

Gulfstream 232 - Transom Fish Box Dimensions? + WTB

The box is 16" deep. There certainly are some voids under the deck.

Gulfstream 232 - Transom Fish Box Dimensions? + WTB

The fish box is pretty big. I wish I had the problem of even coming close to maxing it's capacity. Mine measures at 58" x 22" On the up-sea ride: in SoCal we get a decent swell and wind chop. I think the 232 handles very well. It rides great when you drop the trim tabs 25% - 50% and let the...

    Windlass question: Gulfstream 232 - simpson-lawrence sprint 600

i'll try it. I have the safety cable on the anchor, so no premature-deployment possible, but appreciate the heads up.
