    Non-Custom Hard Tops

Clockwork is right, when you price out a basic fabric top you will be right in line with one of those box deals. The options are what blows the price out of the water (fiberglass, e-box, rod holders, lights, etc).

    Abacos Trip suggestions

June and July are your best bets. Still never a guarantee. As long as your trip doesnt fall on a holiday weekend you should have no trouble finding last minute condos and hotels. Some places will take reservations without a deposit but if you are set on a rental house you will have to lay down...

    Abacos Trip suggestions

Your wife's apprehension is not uncommon.....a couple dramamine and a bean bag and she will wake up happy on the smooth green waters of the Bahama bank.

It definitely gets the job done. Mine holds her own in the land of 40' quad CC's.

    208 mods

Nice job, got any detailed photos of the floor hatch install? Dash looks nice and clean too, considering how much stuff you have installed.

    Abacos Trip suggestions

As previously mentioned flags and guns are unnecessary. Guns and ammo have to be declared and whatever you do don't show up anywhere with one more or one less round than is documented accounted for. Bring all food, drinks, and supplies with you because most is hard to find (except in Marsh...

    Seadeck or Nonskid

I used the Grady colored seadeck on the top of my engle (yeti) cooler that stays onboard full time. The seadeck is great, comfortable underfoot and not slippery. The downside is that it does not stay clean at all, stains easily, the cooler isn't a big deal but it would drive me nuts if it...

    Mounting a electramate 15 ADR

Your plug mounting locations depends more on what you want to do with the electrics. Mine are used for kites and deep dropping and the cord length allows me to position these in any rod holder in the cockpit. My plug is mounted in the starboard aft corner, adjacent to my battery compartment.

Replacing Duratrim on a '91 Grady

No need to get carried away. After the same debate about material replacement I just painted mine with gloss black spraypaint as a temporary fix. Three years later still looks great.

    208 Adventure feedback

There is no 20' boat that has the abilities this one does. I fish mine hard in the winter and seldom see another boat in its size range. Sleeping is fine if you enjoy camping, I am 6'1" and have camped with my girlfriend on board quite a few times while our friends are on the island behind us...

A few more 208 upgrades (and fish)

I have fuel mgmt (Northstar F210) and 60nm is one way, I can get fuel there if needed. I've been tracking my fuel burn under all different conditions for a long time and have a good idea of range. Fished on Saturday with a full boat, livewell, full fuel, etc in less than ideal conditions up to...

A few more 208 upgrades (and fish)

In a small boat when the weather kicks up my cruise speed drops significantly. Its nice to be able to put the curtains up and listen to the stereo while the boat drives home at a leisurely pace. Not to mention long runs on calm days up to 60nm. And I will never troll again without AP.

A few more 208 upgrades (and fish)

I've rewired everything at this point, there were lots of little electrical gremlins in 13 year old wiring. Just took it one step at a time, helm, transom, switch/breaker panel, e-box. The electrical work is relatively cheap from a material perspective, it just requires a ton of careful...

Water Ski Tow Rope Attachment 208 Adventure

A whole lot more air and softer landings. I was on my college wakeboard team but i'm still sticking to fishing boats.

    New 225

To answer your question about how far off, I fished 80 miles out of Jacksonville, FL in a 21 Contender for a number of years. Extremely efficient and luckily never had a major issue. If I got back into that type of activity I would have a satellite phone onboard. Odds are any issue you have...

For wakeboarders I attach the rope to the center of the crossmember supporting the hardtop.
