    Hydraulic Steering

Thank for your quick reply Fire93medic. Here is a picture of the piece I think I need, maybe just running the one cylinder will be just fine.I need the piece that screws onto the hanger from the motor, and attaches to the black bracket to the left of my finger. Thanks again, Glen

    Hydraulic Steering

Good afternoon friends. I bought a set of OX66 take offs last weekend to replace my original 200's on my 1990 Marlin. I took for granite the twins I bought would have hydraulic steering on both motors, so I never checked when I bought them. Anyway, they did not.I took one of the old ones off the...

    A few quick questions

Good afternoon friends, I recently lost a motor, fried the powerhead. Engines were original 1989 Yamaha 200's . Anyway, I'm in the market to replace both motors with take offs, The question is, what do I measure to see if I need a 25 or a 30 inch shaft, The boat is a 1990 28 Marlin. Some sets...

    Yamaha 200 2 Stroke

Marina mechanic confirmed what I suspected, powerhead fried, and went on to say brown plugs mean lack of oil. There was oil on top reservoir and just filled the tanks up a week ago, so unless the injector quit working I guess he could be right, alarm has always sounded when oil got low. Anyways...

    Yamaha 200 2 Stroke

Went down this morning, pulled plugs couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, did not scope it. Could not turn by hand or by bumping the starter. Marina will diagnose sometime this week, and he hypothetic quote of about 5 grand for powerhead. If that's the case, I'll be looking around for some...

    Yamaha 200 2 Stroke

Good afternoon friends. I have a 1990 Marlin with original Yamaha 200 outboards. Bought the boat Nov last year, and boat or motors haven't disappointed me yet, until today.I was trolling today, and a good friend wanted to fish, and he was about 5 miles south of me, so I pulled lines and headed...

    A couple questions

No, didn't run out of gas, but when we were heading back in, the gauge was "flashing", that I guess meant we were getting close. So the next morning, I filled it up, and only took 94 gallons. I'm guessing if the tank is 160, approx. 70 gallons would not be "flashing" close to empty. Any way...

    A couple questions

Hello everyone, I have a 1990 Marlin, and a couple questions. The two oil reservoir tanks on the stern, do they coincide with the 2 gas tanks, i.e.is the one closest to engines for the aux. tank? Next question, when I bought the boat, the previous owner stated it had a main 160 gallon tank, and...

    Winter Project

Hello everyone. I have been to marina getting all the little things worked out on my new to me Marlin. Microwave doesn't work, was wondering how it is removed, and if anyone could post some pics of what they did in it's place. Everything is cleaned up, all lights are functional now, I replaced...

    AC DC Panel

Thanks for the response, I guess I was thinking that once I was hooked to shore power, everything should work on both sides of the panel. Like I stated, please pardon my lack of knowledge on this issue. My thinking was, that since there is a inverter, everything on both sides of panel should...

    AC DC Panel

Good evening everyone, and please forgive my ignorance. I recently bought a 1989 Marlin. I have had smaller boats, nothing quite this large. My questions are, when I plug in shore power, I get electric lets say to the stove, with the stove breaker switched to the on position on the DC side of...

Thanks for advice, Macerator pump fine, the monitor is the one that is bad, Shop vac seems a bit messy, maybe I will just siphon from the monitor fitting, and do the best I can til I can get in water and over to the marina pump. Anyway, check is on the way, looking forward to the seat cushions...

    Tank/pump question

Thank You, went down today and took it out...Good thing I did, previous owner told me tank was pumped out, and it was 3/4 full! I filled the rest of the way with -100 RV anti-freeze, so hopefully looking for a problem potentially averted another one. I have a lot to learn, but enjoying it all so...

    Tank/pump question

Hello everyone, and thanks for all the advice. I am new, and slowly getting familiar with my 28 Grady. When I first purchased the gentleman told me the gauge that tell you the tank level meter did not work. I went down today to check on the bolsters that are being made, and just looked around...

    Aft cabin questions

Hello everyone, I am pretty new here and have a couple of questions about the aft cabin trim. Anyone know of any alternative trim to clean up the opening trim that is only half there. Also, when I pick up the floor under the aft cabin area, where the holding tanks are, the open space is full of...
