Bilge Pump and Dash Circuit Breaker Replacement

Thanks for the advice. It was simpler than I thought. I bought an Attwood 1200 gph pump that required a 6 amp fuse. I replaced the circuit breaker to 6 amp and all works well. Back in business.

Bilge Pump and Dash Circuit Breaker Replacement

We have an 05 Sailfish 282. The forward bilge pump went out. It is an Attwood V1250 and states "Fuse - 4 Amp" on the top. This corresponds to breaker on the dash which also states "4 Amp." The problem is that all the replacement pumps require a 6 Amp or higher fuse unless I drop to a 500 gph...

    Looking at 05 282 sailfish

We have an 05 Sailfish, 900 hours on 250s and no such cracks. If I saw that I would walk. Maybe I'm too skeptical but a general surveyor probably isnt going to investigate that deeply enough that I'd bet the purchase price on. Second, and almost most important (to me anyhow) are those cracks in...

2002 282 sailfish air conditioning install help needed

We have an 05 Sailfish 282 with ac. The unit is behind a vent cover on the aft bulkhead of the midberth. It is mounted to a platform directly over the holding tank. I'd bet Grady Customer Service could help you out with how it is installed.

    282 Sailfish Pumpout ?

We have an 05 282 w/pumpout seacock. I'd recommend you call Grady customer service with your friend's HIN on that one. I can't imagine producing that model w/out a pump out option.

    V-Berth / Mid-Berth Cushion Replacement

I checked both already. A&J didnt do the original cusions but they would recover mine if I sent them my current ones. Wise didn't do the original cushions either so same process, send in the existing etc. They recommended I contact Grady to see who made the originals. Grady referred me to my...

    V-Berth / Mid-Berth Cushion Replacement

It's time to recover the v-berth and mid-berth cushions on our 2005 Sailfish 282. The local yachtbedding.com (and every other place I've checked around here) quotes $1200 plus change. Does anyone know a place that already has the pattern and can just sew us a new set of cushion covers in...

    Sailfish Head

I second what Tucker said. Use the head faucet to put water in the bowl for flushing. All but eliminates the dead saltwater organisms smell and prolongs the life of the in-tank macerator. That being said, I replaced the pump mechanism last summer. Pretty easy job but seeing that a whole new...

    Fresh Water Pump

Thanks re: Transom shower nozzle. Yes we checked that first thing.....Actually I'm sure I found the problem. I lifted the galley sink and found the hot water line was dripping where it meets the nylon nut at the bottom of the faucet hard line. I had a great idea of redoing the line connectors in...

    Fresh Water Pump

Great idea running a seperate plugged output line from the pump and seeing if it leaks back. Ill give that a shot this weekeend. We're pretty diligent with the water tank/screen cleaning but Ill check the items you noted before isolating the pump. Thank you for those recommendations. I...

    Fresh Water Pump

My fresh water pump will activate when I flip the switch. It fills the lines with pressure then goes off. Even without turning on any faucet, the pump will reactivate for a second or two after a few minutes. A few minutes more and it will reactivate again.....etc etc. Does this mean I have a...

Why'd this have to be a Grady?

I'll bet it wasn't actually the Grady owner that did it........it was the guy's brother-in-law !!! The In-Laws are always to blame when something like that goes wrong. (Please don't tell my wife I posted this)

    Sailfish Enclosure

Motivator, A&J Canvas was the ticket. They had the exact pattern and the cut was factory quality perfect. Couldn't have been happier with their work product. Frankly I was nutted up a bit about putting in the snaps. Had these horrible thoughts of giant wrinkles wrecking the look of the whole...

    Sailfish Enclosure

Too late re: smilies vs frownies.....oh well...it'll be a "happy boat." Yes A&J sent the tool. Can't get to the job for two more weeks but I'll send it back promptly with a quality thank you note. They were really nice and helpful and the canvas/strataglass looks great. We're anxious to get it...

    2006 282 Sailfish

Oh I'm with you 100% on that. Our Sailfish is in the slip and always will be, the actual cost of operation and maintenance between the 282 and 330 wouldn't be so much an issue. The problem is purchase price. We got the 05 Sailfish w/250s about two years ago for $60k. It was a sweet deal and...

    2006 282 Sailfish

The wife is excited about the 330 Express. Figuring it'll be costly upgrade no matter so go big......but thats six digits plus. Our 282 is bulletproof, looks great and fits easily in the budget....boats are always wants versus needs I suppose.

    2006 282 Sailfish

Funny you say that.....my wife is on me for a bigger boat. It'll be double what we paid for the sailfish to get a late model Marlin or Express though. Money always seems to get in the way I suppose. We love our boat though. Wife justs wants more room for the frequent weekend trips to Catalina...

    Waste tank

We have an 50 282. The pump gave out but thankfully no leaks. Unless your 5'8" and really flexible, its a patience testing job to crawl back there, remove the air conditioner and the braces (mounted above the tank) to finally get good access. I just purchased a new pump and dropped it in...

    2006 282 Sailfish

Yamaha 250s. We're in Southern California. We keep her in a slip.....Huntington Harbor. Most of our boating is coastal fishing and 1-3 night stays at Catalina Island.
