    257 Advance - Engine Repower

Thanks, the transom delta is only 50hp. Regardless, I probably need to look at this another way . . . is 50hp worth it to potentially have insurance issues . . . its not. I'm moving on to better props and other means to get speed up a bit.

    257 Advance - Engine Repower

I'm considering repowering my 2004 257. I'd love to jump up from twin 150s to twin 200s like they put on the newer models, but my year is rated to 350. Not sure the extra 50hp is worth it and may elect to just keep running my current set of engines. Has anyone repowered an older vintage 257 to...

    Adding a Third Battery

I'd like to add a third battery to my 2004 247 Advance. This third battery would serve as the "house" battery and collect a charge from the engine alternators in the same manner as my current two batteries. I like the idea of not running the radio, etc. off of batteries my engines are dependent...

GW Marlin swim step bolts are loose, anyone have any idea how to access them

Same issue . . . one of four screws had come loose and would not tighten or back out all the way . . . used a little 5200 on the screw and moved on.

    Grady Pleated Vinyl

Trying to locate where I can buy marine vinyl for the port side bolster on my 257. It's channeled (vertical channels) and everything I'm finding online has horizontal channeling (running along the length rather than up and down the width of the roll). I want to avoid sewing two pieces together...

    Transom damage 272???

It's difficult to distinguish cosmetic issues from real issues via photos . . . you really should get a survey performed. I can tell you that its not uncommon for the transom cap to show degradation along the bottom edge, which is typically just cosmetic. Looks like there is something going on...

    Furuno 1870F - Help

I certainly felt like I waited more than 10 mins, but I can try again. I think it is an input issue. I have a hard wired antenna, I believe it is the GPA017 and expected to see this as an input option. What I did see was internal GPS, automatic and IF-NMEA2K2.

    Furuno 1870F - Help

My Furuno 1870F was recently reset to factory settings. The fish finder, depth, etc. seems fine. However, the GPS is not connecting. I have a “No Fix” message on most screens. I’m a newby setting these things up and any help is greatly appreciated. Everything is connected up correctly as the GPS...

Looking for a new seat for a 2004 225 Tournament

To provide context, I just spent $615 redoing the jump seat on my 257. I had it redone in the same style as the original, so not a basic seat wrap. This included the plastic/starboard (whatever) foundation board, which is thick given it needs to carry a load.

    Gas Tank Maintenance

I have a 2004 257 and am curious what others do to maintain their aluminum gas tanks. My tank is original to the boat, with no obvious signs for concern . . . and I'd like to keep it that way. My manual simply provides that the fuel storage tank area needs to be rinsed w/ fresh water...

    Bilge water in new boat

It's funny some say it should be bone dry, others say they always have a little water . . . most likely depends on the model of boat. I have a 2004 257 and it'll always have a little water in the bilge. Heck where you mount the pump is on a slightly raised section in the center of the bilge...
