    Replacing fuel lines

There has been some discussion on fuel line replacement after so many years in use (age of yacht) with breakdown of the interior of the fuel line. My 2006 208 has now had 17 fun filled years on the planet so....I cut a section at the end of the line where it arrives and leaves the primary...

    scuffed gelcoat

Band of Brothers, I have a gelcoat dock scuff on the hull on the bow flare below the rub rail, about 3 ft. long. Have looked at few you tube videos on repair but they all seem a little overkill. The gelcoat is just marred not through the gelcoat or really scratched. Is there a less...

    aluminium trailer corrosion

Hi guys, looking for little guidance in my trailer project. I have removed the bunks with the mounting brackets attached. Where the brackets were fastened to the I beam aluminium trailer (6000 lb.Road King) has left quite a salt deposit with some corrosion where the dissimilar metals join. I...

    master stateroom

Thought you guys might like to see the bed I made for the master stateroom of my 208 Adventure. The frame I made from conventional dimension lumber but took some of my wood turning burls (sliced and polished for the head and base board. It was a squeeze but got it in place. ;)

    Auto pilot hardover

A question regarding my AP . When using the Sabiki (holding position with auto back troll mode) or even stopped and the steering is hard over with the auto pilot reaching its port or starboard limit the Ap cannot return it, I need to manually return (unstick) it with a jerk of the steering...

Hi guys, can this be done? Trying to get some pics on the site, but like to have a look at them after they are uploaded. Sometomes sizing and placement being an issue then want to make a change. I go to edit and delete then then "no title" comes up, hit save (as in save the delete)go back to...

    Time to plane

Curiosity has overcome, do any of you check on your time to get the boat from a idle position to up on plane with a normal (average) load? I believe , although I have not been out for awile, about 5 seconds for my 208 with the F200i4 dragging a 100 lb. kicker to get up and boogy. I will check...

    The POD influence

For you who have a Grady with a closed transome and pod, the interest I have is in the 228 seafarer . What are the noticable handling charaterist differences between the notched transome models and the pod.....if any. I have only had yachts with notched transome....my precious 208 Adventure...

    228 is a beauty

Fellow followers of the Great Grady clan. Would one of you with the 228 seafarer give me an idea of the length of your 228 on the trailer, from trailer hitch to the prop on the outboard. Just need an idea for length of a storage unit. Not ready to give up my 208 but that would certainly be...

    WOT again?

Yes, this subject has been thrashed over time and I have been guilty of participating in the past. But......why in the Yamaha Engine specs for the 4 strokes they say WOT 5000 to 6000 rpms? Yet we seem to insist that in order to avoid engine damage we must be up around the 6000 rpm WOT. I am...

    Getting a raise

I am in the process of raising my F 200i4 on my 208 to the last hole. Have seen good results going to the 4 blade prop, and the fact that it appears to have better grip has got me thinking I will raise the Yam to see if I can increase my WOT by 100 rpm's of so. At the moment I am 56- 5700. Any...

    Power tech prop

Just purchased a Power Tech ss prop SCE4 14X15p from the company in Texas through Ken at Prop Gods. Just questioning if any of you guys are using Power Tech props and your thoughts on them. Have not got the new prop wet yet, waiting for weather. I did read about some issues with blades breaking...

    Cockpit sole hatch

Searching out a little more storage space on my 208 and questioning if anyone has installed a hatch between the fuel tank bulkhead and the cabin bulkhead? There is quite bit of room there (24" x 14") from my rough measurements. It is just forward of the seats and starts about 10 inches from...

    4blade

Hi guys, having thoughts about a 4 blade prop. Are any of you running a 4 blade prop on 208 with the Yamaha f200i4? Would appreciate hearing from you with the make of prop and diameter and pitch and rpm and speed numbers. Thanks

    internal anodes Yamaha F 200xb

Has anyone on GG changed the internal (not the ones accessible on the outside of the outboard) anodes but that require some dismantling of the engine to access? Not sure how many hours of running time before replacement. Would guess that with the work needed to check them, one might as well...

    Batteries once more

Try to put info together info on my next batterie purchase, realizing I am thrashing the subject but just need a couple of your ideas. Thinking about group 31 AGM using two Costco Energizer Dual Purpose. Should I consider trying to get a starting battery and a deep cycle battery instead...
