What is the consensual wisdom about the rubber ring that "seals" the fuel cap filler space? Mine just split and I lost it in the water; is this of any added value? where might one find a replacement? Thx in advance.

I've a 209 escape, pushed by a YAM 150. The engine trim works, but the sensor of the trim position does not linearly indicate the engine position on the tach, as it should. I see usually two bars, no matter where the engine really is. Any ideas how to troubleshoot, or fix? Thx B

The dual battery set up on my 209 has four setting - "battery 1, battery 2, both and off". When would I use "off"? Should I turn to off whenever I leave the boat? What exactly will setting it to "off" allow to continue to work - bilge? engine trim switch? GPS? Thanks in advance. B

OK I accept that, if I keep my previously pristine unpainted 209 in the salt water of eastern LI, I need to paint the bottom. The folks doing this for me are suggesting I also paint the bottom portions of the engine - does this make sense? Not so intuitively obvious to me.... Thx B
