yea, i'm with you on replacing the fixtures! Can you share what Attwood fixtures you got? Like for like replacement or did you have to do any modification/drilling etc. Would really appreciate hearing the details... Want to take this project on as soon as I rip the shrink wrap off late March.

I used to leave my traps in the water and dive to them. I had a license for diving and traps for them.

I totally agree with the rubbermaid. I think I paid about $120 for the biggest they had at the time and it's plenty big enough for anything I'd need to store in it. I can't imagine the benefit/value of paying more than $500 for a fiberglass "dock box" of similar size.

I had the same concern. Largely depends on your float switch. Ihave a covered SureBail and it needs to get to the top of the cover in my case. Your float switch should have a test on it though.

I should mention I did not do this work myself. I had my technician do it when replacing my water pump. if you're good with taking down the lower unit, there's no reason I don't think you can't apply this fix DIY, but I didn't want to leave the impression I did.
