This is the best upgrade I have made for my 2006 208 Adventure. Total package less than $ 5 K. in 2010 price. Totally...

    M y Wedge Transom Saver's?

When I purchased my Grady new in 2006 no one said anything about using a transom saver. Later I was reading an article about using savers. I called Yamaha and they said definitely use savers on motors over 150 H.P. because of the weight. Yamaha sells their brand and so does Bass Pro. After...

    Fish finder/navigation

My 208 has a hardtop. Not sure about a unit with internal antenna for GPS would receive well. My Furuno antenna is mounted on gunnel starboard bow area. 7 inch GPS screen fits in my electronics box along with a 7 inch screen Furuno depth / sonar but it fills it up. I do not prefer the combo...

    Marlin 300 vs. Adventure 208

I have a 2006 Adventure 208 with a 225 Yamaha F.S.. It is what I need for what I do and with fuel prices continuing to go up I decided not to go to the next level in size and twin engines. The Adventure rides good and is easy to handle and trailers well . With 3 guys, gear and good weather I get...

Threw hull or in hull Transducer

I use a transom mount on a Furuno and a thru hull on a Lowrance. Both work good but the thru hull never loses bottom signal. In shallow stirred up water as an in an inlet I occasionally lose bottom signal with the transom mount. Trick is to find the "sweet spot" in the hull before mounting it...

Is it common for 208 Adventurers not to hold a true line?

Re: Is it common for 208 Adventurers not to hold a true line I have never experienced a big issue with my 208. When properly trimmed out on plane she stays on course except for the normal corrections ( not 180 degrees ) due to quartering seas and strong cross winds. I have a hardtop Tee top on...
