Possibility of making an "open forum" for non - Grady White topics of conversation?

I will go you one better. After 15 years on this site, just listening to this sanctimonious crap is enough for me to call it a day with the site. Good luck. No hard feelings, but life is too short. I will close the door myself on the way out.

Thanks for your thoughtful insight and good luck with trying to un-ring the bell.

Possibility of making an "open forum" for non - Grady White topics of conversation?

Thanks for the “clarification”. Keep the posts Grady specific and if people need to chat about the weather or their grandmother’s gallstones, why not p.m. your Grady friend and chat that way or get your off-topic friends to join THT with you or better yet, start your own Grady Owner’s Forum for...

    Fresh Water - '97 Gulfstream

First, did you pull the screen filter just before the pump and check for debris? Also try pulling the hose on the output side of the pump and the run it to see if it is in fact pumping. Many times, one or the the other will clear the problem. Good luck.

    Covid update

Thank God you did. Hospitalization is highly unusual if vaccinated. Congrats on surviving the journey.

    Covid update

Welcome back to the living. Were you not able to get vaccinated for some reason.? Could likely have avoided the hospital stay if you were. Either way, stay safe and good luck.

    Sailfish 282 Repower to Single?

After running my 272 with twin 200 HPDIs for 20 seasons, all I have to say is that you will likely be sorry you switched to a single the first time you try to dock it in even the smallest winds. It is impossible to back down properly when you are fighting the torque of a single. With no wind...

2006 282 Sailfish Fresh Water Fill

Sorry but I have to ask, if that was the problem then why was there no water in the bilge? The water heater should drain straight to the front bilge (unless your model year is different), so you would think you would see it in the aft bilge unless the front bilge is not properly draining to the...

    Braid Shakedown

When using braid, especially for bottom-fishing, I always use a leader to the braid that is at least 10 pound test lighter than the braid/mainline just for that reason. If you get caught up you only lose the terminal tackle and not a lot of the braid. In regard to the OP's post, I would guess...

    Covers and Antennaes UPDATE

The simple solution is to remove the through-bolt at the handle and you can lay the antenna any way you want, Takes a few minutes.

    cockpit floor protection

Another simple solution is to dip the sinkers in melted black rubber. Protects the boat and also camouflages the sinker. Most importantly, don't let the boat own you....kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion.

    New Grady Owner

"Also looking for the storage bin that fits in the bench where the batteries are stored anyone know where to get a replacement? " I don't know which model year introduced the bin, but it was post 2000. I tried to get one for my 2000 Sailfish when they first started putting them in and was told...

Baitwell and wash down valves, can you run with those open?

All you guys running around with the baitwell valve open, even when there is no bait in it, just keep in mind that salt water weighs 8.6 pounds per gallon. That's 258 pounds for a 30 gallon tank. Like having a permanent passenger on board. As pointed out above, for safety reasons, all through...

Congratulations on the purchase. Baert is a great group to deal with. You will be happy you bought there, when it comes to correcting any issues with the boat after delivery. They go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Also, you might try Smithwick Mariner for insurance. Was with...

    Shower sum pump filter location

That's where it is. It is a bit of a reach, but easy enough to get it out.

    New owner

Congrats on the new boat. Brewers, aka Hawthorn Cove, is supposed to be a nice marina, with the exception of its' exposure to north east winds. Not familiar with their pricing. Your local choices are limited. Beverly Port Marina is very well protected, but expensive and not very well maintained...

Need Some Help Locating Where My Boat Leaks From.

While the boat is at rest and dry in the aft bilge, have you checked to see how much is in your forward bilge area? It is possible that what you are seeing while underway, is simply the water in the forward going aft while the bow is up while underway. Hopefully it is that simple.

Water Leak from the Windshield Washer

I am not sure about your model, buy on my Sailfish the shutoff is located in the helm starboard side console above the cupholder. It is a round dial that you turn for off and on. There is no panel switch for the washer, only for the main water pump. Hope this helps.
