    208 kicker install

I used the Garelick 71090 mount, rated to hold 30HP/ 130-lbs. I used a piece of 2" thick starboard/UHMW to move the mount away from the transom. As you can see the tiller handle is still a little close to the transom. I talked to a guy at the Coast last year who bought one of the GW...

Gil or Armstrong Bracket for 204C

I saw this on ebay recently: a rebuilt Boston Whaler 18 with twin 75 HP 4stroke mercury that weigh 399 lbs each. Did not say if they did any extra work on the restore to beef up the transom So this is 800 lbs on the transom.

    208 Adventure trim tab placement

I just installed the Bennett M120's on my boat. I would read all the directions at home before you go out to the shop/garage/marina to do the install. Message me if you get stuck. here is some info from last month: http://www.greatgrady.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21136

Gil or Armstrong Bracket for 204C

Great idea, this has crossed my mind to do on my boat. Just for fun I looked at the Mercury Marine site. They list their 75hp hp at 369 lbs and their 90hp at 399 lbs and you would need 2 of them. Wow that seems really heavy compared with my single 150 hp V6 2 cycle at 428 lbs How about a...

Overnighter gas tank removal, anyone know the trick?

I am doing this project right now on my 1989 Overnighter. my boat has the 80 gallon gas tank and after all the wood bracing and shims were removed it came out pretty easily out the main floor hatch. My tank was in good physical shape so I removed it and dropped it off at a tank/Radiator...

    Grady White Overnighter bulk head

The bulkhead is ¾ plywood overlaid with a formica/laminate type product that has a woodgrain tone to it. Most likely the ‘core’ plywood is rotting out on the bulkhead, leaving the outer shell of the formica/laminate product. I have ‘repaired’ my bulkhead door by removing it and removing...

20 foot owners - trim tabs??

I am installing the Bennett M120 tabs right now on my 1989 G/W 204. I have everything done but the control at the helm. I had to take a break for a few days due to rain/wind. I had no problems with interference between the actuators and port side swim step

    86' 204c bimini upgrade

I went through that a few years ago. A new hard top/ radar arch would have been nice for me but I could not justify the extra $1000+ expense at the time. Finding a used one was was near impossible let alone shipping to the west coast. I kept it simple and just ended up having new canvas made...

    208 Adventure buying advice

you are on the right track, part of the fun is narrowing down your search. I dont know your budget, but I would stick with the Adventure or Seafarer 1993 and newer. Start looking boats with a 4 stroke, but if one comes up with a 2cycle (I like yamaha's personally) be ready to go for it for...

    New member, prospective 208 Owner

I was going to post a few days ago....but when I read my post it echoed many of the other posts (good advice here) The one thing that I would ask... will you be using the boat daily (charter use) in Baja or just seasonally? I ask because, I found the runs to the fishing grounds to be longer...

    deadrise

Dont know if this helps, but I measured my g/w 204 Overnighter with a digital level, I checked both port and stb sides at the transom. Lets call it 16 deg, I bet the 228 is the same.

    Grady Greenhorn

I think you are looking for a splash well or motor well. I dont think they sell them. You might end up fabricating one or having one made for your specific boat. try this link : http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-for ... hotos.html...

    New to me Grady Overnighter

Access to the underside is very limited on these hulls. Can you can get behind the gunnels behind the aft flip up seating? When I had to get behind the gunnels on my 1989 Overnighter to install a Crab Davit (mid deck port side) , I cut in a 4" inspection port below the location that I was...

    REPOWERING BOAT

Lots of coin if you hang a new O/B a 25 year old boat. What power do you have now? What are your fishing/cruising grounds? How many people do you usually have on board? Do you have a bracket-ed hull and/or a hard top?

How can I change this (cockpit drain)?

couple of ideas- you could remove the frame of the 4" inspection port from the hull, this will give you another 1" of room to stick your arm though. you may have to chip out or remove some foam on the backside of the floor drain to install the new drain. to remove the floor drains (like the...

    1988 Overnighter 20 project

yes you sto-le it , nice job, . I snapped up a deal like that on a collectable car a few years ago. That rig should fly with a 225 and bracket. I would guess high 40's use it and enjoy! Also can you post or message me if you were able to take the old fuel tank out without cutting any...

My First real bad weather incident

I have been in 35 mph winds in a 54 ft sailboat, I was not the captain but at the helm while under motor power. Even in a 'big' boat it was Not Fun! As another owner of a G/W 204, I wanted to say, good job getting you and your crew back in to port in those conditions! Glad the boat handled it.
