Anyone remember user jawz that used to post on this site?

After the years he spent bashing Grady White on this site, he's on THT posting about how they're such a great boat. What a hypocrite.

Ready to buy my new boat... but what? Input needed

I ran a 2003 SeaFarer 226 on Erie for the past 4 seasons (I bought the boat new as a leftover). That hull works very well on Erie. You won't get a smoother ride from any other boat in it's size / class. You mentioned you were considering CCs. Early in the season on Erie, it can be quite cool...

New Boat - what will it take for you to buy one?

Might be a while for me. I sold my GW last year because I wasn't using it. Loved that boat though. Can't say enough good about it. My circumstances aren't lined up for another one right now. I have two Son's that are heavily involved in sports year round. Including traveling tournament...

    Water Pump and Ear Muffs

Had that happen several times with an F225. First thing, use the dual feed muffs (has a feed going to both intake ports). I noticed a dealership didn't get a stream out of my motor, but I did. They weren't using the dual feed muffs. However, even with the dual feed muffs I have had no pee...

    Grady 226 or HydraSports 2200vx

I just sold a 226 and I couldn't imagine a boat in it's class having a better layout. On one or two occaisions I had myself, my Wife, my two Sons, and my Brother and his Wife on board and we were not cramped. Coincidently, I owned a Hydra Sports (albiet, the lightning series) just prior to...

    alomond color starboard

It's definately not seafoam. Seafoam is almost white. Sand is more tan colored than seafoam.

    Rain X on Windshield?

    What megabytes said.

Grady colored starboard or HDPE in Fla?

I don't know about the 90's Gradys, but for a 2003 Grady, the color is NOT seafoam. Seafoam is much whiter than the color Grady used in 2003. When I wanted to make a few custom accessories for my 2003 Seafarer, I contacted Grady White customer service and they were nice enough to send me a...

Thru Hull Replacements - 4200 or 5200 to bed?

According to 3m, 4200 and 5200 are equivalent sealants. 5200 however has superior adhesive properties. When bonding with a mechanical fastener, use 4200. On the other hand, when you need an adhesive for bonding as well as a sealer, use 5200. Personally, I would use 4200 for thru hulls.

    trolling with yamie 150hp

So your talking about four stroke 150s? If so, I would expect them to troll beautifully. My 226 had an F225 on it and I slow trolled for Walleye on Lake Erie with it. It was one smooth, quiet engine. To slow down I used "buggy bags" from amish outfitters. They are very high quality bags...

    250 4-stroke on 90 grady-too much weight?

Ugh, don't like the idea that they raised the cockpit sole. That would mean less interior freeboard, right? On the other hand, moving the main tank forward. Now that's the fix they needed to make. What year did they do that? Mine was a 2003 and it still had the more rearward main tank and...

    Keel Hitting Trailer Axle

I have never seen a keel hit an axle. A crossmember, yes, but not an axle. It's a trailer setup issue, or your not backing the trailer down the ramp far enough (or a combination of both of these). Post some pics and maybe we can get a better idea as to what the cause might be.

    Sea Foam

Just after I purchased my 2003 F225, I noticed an intermittent vibration at trolling speed (ie 600 rpm). The problem only occurred when the motor was in gear so I assumed something was out of balance (but I didn't hit anything). Took it to the dealer. The dealer said it was due to a bushing...

    250 4-stroke on 90 grady-too much weight?

You'll likely find that the thru hull fittings for the cockpit drains (ie. scuppers) will be underwater. Unless they changed something in the last couple years (like raising the cockpit sole), that is the case even with the newer SeaFarers with 4 strokes. My '03 226 was that way. On the sea...
