    re: tuna tower

I'm thinking in the $400-$500 dollar range. No controls. There is a control console box, with a compass. I'd ditch the control box all togeher as it makes the entire thing heavy. I think it would be awesome without the excess weight. I'll take better pics soon, once I am done with...

    Paint Jobs

Barrier coat 2x's and then anything you want. You need to seal back up the rough surface which will be left after you blast is. I had mine blasted last season. It does remove some gel. This will also help seal up any fine lines air bubbles from layup etc. You will be surprised what you'll...

storage question on Marlin and others

The previous owner of mine went out to the ditch often from Lewes Delaware. He had a divider system made out of lexan for different size weights. I've since removed the dividers and carry a much lighter lead assortment in that compartment since I am inshore. It is a nice place for weights...

    Replacement Windshield Assembly

I got a price from number 2 for my Marlin. I was hoping to replace the frame and reset the glass. Even that was boku. The whole windshield was around $2600. Just to refinish my frame with me doing all the labor to remove and reset was over $1000. I'm sure thats going rate, but I passed. I...

Trailer Axles - leaf spring vs. torsion bar

Go electric over hydraulic for the brakes and add a brake controller in the truck. My marlin trailer has a DICO 12k surge coupler which I'd love to switch over to electric just to give better control.

    Marlin Information

We bought our Marlin when we found out my wife was pregnant with our second. Our 21' Seaswirl Striper WAC was just too small. It's hard to believe that we've had the boat two seasons now. It works well for us, a bit more cabien space would be better, but it works. Plenty of space in the...

HELP!!! In need of tilt trim unit for mid 90s Johnson/Evinru

You should have a minimum of 6 lines at least 3/8 diameter in a slip that exposed. Two stern, two bow, two spring. It should allow for any single line failure without dock or piling contact. It looks and sounds like you had less, so maybe consider modifying the arrangement. I'm just trying...

    How much water ...

I would naver back down in less than a 2 foot slip. Thats allot of spinning SS to get screwed if the tide is really low that day.

Help with my Christmas wish list

I take a completely different approach to boat tools. Buy the cheap version of whatever you need. I hit up harbor freight and filled a whole tool box for like $50. Nothing worse than dropping a $55 SS adjustable wrench over, I'd feel like I'd have to swim for it. To have a full set of real...

HELP!!! In need of tilt trim unit for mid 90s Johnson/Evinru

Dude that sucks. I wish I had a spare to give you bro. A few comments from the video. I honestly think that given the exposure of your dock you should consider modifying your dock line approach. I think the overall size line used is marginal and the method allows for allot of movement in...

    Vapor Lock???

Trust me inspect the inside of the tank through the fuel sender. If there is a little gremlin inside he will always resurface when the other tank is empty. Just what I found on mine and it drove me nuts-o. As a test, refill the last known working tank but keep running off the suspect tank... jh
