    Teleflex Sea Star Cylinder Leak

Have had a slow leak from the cylinder seals and have been keeping up with it by topping off at the helm. For the seal kit/replacement: Marina wants 4 hours labor + parts For a cylinder replacement: They want 2 hours labor + parts for a cylinder replacement. How easy is it to do either of...

    Quick Flush Port Adapater?

Does that quick connect adapter reduce the flow rate? (more concerned when it's connected and in normal engine operation then when flushing) I saw at lowes/home depot they have a quick connect brass fitting as well. Not sure it has the spring to stop water flow though.

    Quick Flush Port Adapater?

Has anyone found or made a good DIY flush port adapter for easy flushing on a Yamaha 4 stroke? I'd like to avoid having to hop over onto the swim platform and unscrew/rescrew the flush port every time I flush. So the question: What have you rigged up to make flushing easier? Thanks...

    Engine Winterization Work

First year with my Gulfstream and single F250 and I am contemplating doing the winterizing work myself. The boat will be pulled out of the water next week and will go on blocks for the winter. I am not well versed in mechanics, but I am handy and can figure things out. I've got the service...

Suggestions for Securing ahead of Irene

Struggling with a decision here. Marina is suggesting leaving it in. They're hauling boats though. If they hauled they'd only be putting it in parking lot next to the marina about 4ish feet up from high tide on blocks, not tied down. I'll beat myself up either way. If i'm in a slip with an...

Fuel Flow Meter / Management Meter Issues

My digital yamaha guages for the fuel flow meter and the fuel management meter have stopped flowing numbers for my F250. Before completely stopping, they would intermittently operate and prior to that they were fine. Could some of you fine folks recommend where I should be looking to get these...

wake boarding behind a 232 Gulfstream; connection points?

Re: wake boarding behind a 232 Gulfstream; connection points Power jokes aside, should I go with a 12ft tow harness or 16ft harness for a Gulfstream with a single F250 on the bracket? Will 12 be be cutting it too close?

    Helm light replacement

Great - I will take a look for the ground and see if that does it for the spreaders. Could be a lose connection. The helm light has not come on, so I will take a look at the bulb and the switch. Thanks!

    Helm light replacement

Apologies to bring this back from the dead, but on the same topic... On my 98 Gulfstream the helm light is not working, and the switch for spreaders sometimes works. Reading this thread it sounds like it could be switch issues, but could the bulbs for the helm lights be bad too? And if so...
