Long time member, finally got another boat

Hey guys, I talked to KingJ here this last weekend, it's been a few years, and he was all excited about his new (to him) 208. We finally got financially recovered from the past six years and decided to get another boat. Unfortunately it couldn't be another Grady, so I'm just popping in to say...

That's a wonderful thing. Very pretty there.

    Bimini top install

The newer boats have all stainless poles too. If you have old aluminum poles consider getting new ones.

    gps and transducer question

Yes, a model, type of boat, and type of boating intended would help. Most people don't split the screen on the small displays, they just switch from one to the other. For smaller boats on inland waters they can work quite nicely without spending a ton of money. Garmin is known for the...

    Hand Held GPS

We would use both, a Lowrance combo unit with a 5" screen for the chart and sounder, and a Garmin 60 series for the navigate-to rose. Very handy combo. Was also easier to mark waypoints with the handheld. But yeah, in a seaway it was darn near impossible to try to view the handheld screen...

    A Grady-White lemon?

Vawy quiet... LOL. Where is that guy anyway? This is the perfect thread for his drivel. Vawy quiet... Reminds me of the unique rabbit quip: How do catch a unique rabbit? you neek up on him. How do you catch a tame rabbit? Tame way. (thread jack, sorry...) Going well. Very busy...

    192 tournament stereo installation

Welcome to the forum! Sorry no one has replied. I would suggest a search, there are a number of threads on stereo installation. Is the 192 a center console or tournament/bow-rider? I couldn't recall. In either case, a weatherproof house lets you pretty much put it anywhere handy to the...

    Andy at SIM Delivers Again

He's the best in the biz. I wish he and wife Lisa(?) great success, they deserve it. When I had questions on my counter-balancer he was there to help, by phone and email, with factory technical bulletins via PDF, even though I had the work done locally. He made sure I got taken care of...

    Horn not working, help

The rocker switches and circuit resets are known to fail. Check there to make sure you have power. Especially the circuit breaker. Cheap to replace, easy to get at any marine supply. The horns are a bit fussy. If they get water in them they can stick. Good instruction here on tinkering with...

    Tournament 255

Great looking boat, isn't it? I keep toying with the idea of a tourney of any size.

    Holly Yamaha Batman!

Ringfree was developed for the HPDI to eliminate fouling of the O2 sensors. It works well, and does everything intended. It made sense to recommend it for the four strokes too, just to keep everything clean in the fuel system and to help eliminate carbon build up on piston, rings, and valves...

    Center Hydraulic cylinder leaking

If this is for a SEASTAR, before I added a chemical that softened the seals, I would spend $100 and get a seal kit, comes with one for each side of the ram, and a tool to remove them with. Bleed and yer good to go. Hardly any fluid comes out when you remove the end seal, just have a quart of...

    a beautiful 208 adventure immigrant

I'm glad you found the forum Brian. Lot's of great info, and welcome aboard! Trapper and wife are first class people, and quite the artists I must say. We hope to visit there sometime, they have some of the best boating in the world. I know, I came from that area 17 years ago! I guess I'm...

    Removing Boat Name

Wet sand with 1000 grit and then compound. Grady gel coat is very thick but don't get carried away. You need to get a uniform, flat surface, before polishing.

    Trim Tab Indicator

A none issue. Once you get used to using them it doesn't matter where they are. Retract when you're in port, run them down to trim when you need them. I thought the indicator would be of help, but soon forgotten.
